Got my sombrero ready for tonight, a tight game with Mexico getting a late winner is my prediction, 1-0. Should be some atmosphere, glad they put the first game in the traditional football nation.

Of course I am looking forward to the opening ceremony with the delightful Shakira, bet she doesn't miss a penalty.

Just read that there's actually going to be three opening ceremonies this time (been checking the kickoff times very carefully to make sure I don't accidentally stumble into one).......one in each country to go along with their first games.

Mexico gets Shakira, the US gets Katy Perry, Canada gets Michael Buble. So now you know which one to watch with Grandma. Somehow that just feels like it fits the national stereotypes perfectly!

Suspect given the kickoff and the time zones that I'll be one of the only ones on here watching South Korea vs. Czechia tonight......but really looking forward to that one too!
