First stop Sri Lanka this year, then off to the West Indies early next year.

Stone makes his debut today and lots of spinners are in the team. Let's see what happens

Looking forward to seeing how the white ball team cope, a good test for them. The red ball side? Not expecting too much, the top order have a lot of work to do.

Hoping the cricket gives us a bit of genuine excitement... especially as we're not getting much following OUFC of late

A decent start from England, but the usual dumb shot from Roy though.

Yes a little odd. One of the warm up games was rained off as well.
Thats what happens when you have overloaded fixtures.
I notice Saturdays match has Sunday as a reserved day..............just in case!!
Its quite likely that around 50% of the tour could be washed out.

Nasser Hussain suggested that Ollie Stone is 'seriously quick
Hopefully he will be used in the test matches as well. Short spells and hope to blast a couple out.
I am amazed Broad AND Anderson have gone to Sri Lanka. Anderson Stone with stokes and some spinners would have been enough.

Well rain nearly ruined the game but we probably would have won fairly comfortably today.
Woakes three wickets (and the first was a great ball). It will be interesting whether he can get wickets in the Tests

Does anyone know why we have this Cricket Social thing rather than actual full-time commentary?

TalkSport nabbed the commentary for the Sri Lanka tour, so the BBC are left with trying to fill a hole in their schedule.

So, the third match starts (or doesn't!) with it raining. After one match was washed out and the other severely curtailed.

The idea of playing in the rainy season looks ever more ludicrous.

I agree. Ridiculous. The Sri Lanka board must be furious to lose most of what is probably a lucrative home ODI tour.
Apparently the Barny Army didn't go as they knew most would be rained off

It's a question of fitting tours into calendars - players want to play in tournaments like the Big Bash and IPL, so the boards have to compromise somewhere. But it does look silly go on tour in the rainy season

Turned into a bit of a stroll. Morgan again looking good, which has come as a bit of a shock as put him in a Middx shirt he doesn't know which end of the bat to hold...

He said on the radio that he used the couple of weeks break after the season to work on some of the flaws in his game that had crept in this season.

And Darren Gough is a terrible commentator. Can't even consistently state the obvious.

That and the daft ticket pricing. England fans £25 and locals less than £2.

All things are relative of course and £25 pittance to those who travelled but the principle of charging one lot over 20 times more to watch the same match from the same stand has understandably aggrieved many.

Unlike Boycott, who consistently states the obvious, or his opinion of it, over, and over, and over, and over.... (repeat until ready to bang your head against t'wall or turn t'radio off)
