New Stadium The Triangle - Planning (S106 Agreed)

Labour have ‘paused’ the roll out of the new unitary councils.

Should we proceed with the stadium, we’ll still be answering to the whims of CDC and OCC for now.
I suggest that they aren't the real problem for us atm and regulations are still regulations. It certainly won't stop my council KCC from going ahead with its divestment strategies.

Sometimes the only way to stop fear controlling you is to accept it, face it, and let the thing you’re worried about actually arrive.
The 24th is coming whether we refresh this thread once a day or fifty times. None of us can influence what happens in that courtroom, so there is little point spending the next couple of weeks torturing ourselves over every possible outcome.
Yes, there is a risk. Of course there is. But fear should be proportionate to the position we are actually in.
This claim has already been refused on the papers. The woodland ground was described as “unsustainable” and the traffic argument as having “no valid basis for judicial review”. That does not guarantee the result on the 24th, but it is hardly a position that should have everyone hiding behind the sofa.
So embrace the uncertainty. Accept the small possibility that it might be allowed to continue, and remember that even permission would not mean FoSB had won or the stadium had been stopped. It would simply mean another legal stage.

Fear is always worse when you spend weeks feeding it.

I know (thanks, @Billyox, as always) that we have to wait until the 24th.

So can you, or anyone else, explain why I come to look at this thread at least once every single day?
it’s because we all care so much about the club and its future
The closer we get the more anxious we become
@Billyox has lad us through these choppy waters fantastically well, there are others who have contributed a huge amount such as @Colin B and @SwissYellow
We all hope that the hearing will be moved forward and we get the result we want.
It’s almost like the season we got promoted.
After a good start to the season we fell away in the middle and wondered if we would get there.
Then a huge setback losing 5-0 to Bolton then a good finish and we make the playoffs
First leg we thought we hadn’t done enough but we battled and got through
Onto a he final , dare we dream of beating he same team that thrashed us a couple of months before
Our opening statement was by Sam Long followed up by the cunning evidence put forward by Josh Murphy and we never looked back
Many hurdles and we got there in the end

Sadly, but at least KTC cannot legally touch us. They'll still moan though.

You’re just reminding me of what a day at Wembley that was

Visited the Olympiastadiona few years ago. Amazing architecture but very eerie too, given its history.
True very eerie! some say if you're quiet enough, you can still hear the screams of oliver kahn as that 5th goal went in

I caught a bit of John Healey’s speech this morning before nodding off completely when I heard him mutter something about vexatious judicial reviews into infrastructure projects blocking economic growth:

Funny how the “planning process must be respected” argument suddenly changes when the delay isn’t working in the NIMBYs’ favour.

If ever there was a photo showing the NIMBY’s in their true colours this is it.

Everyone there over65 ,in their Barbour jackets and caps with the odd dog thrown in for good measure.
In all of these campaigns ( unless it’s about crossings near schools) the protesters are of a certain age.
They have got to the area they want to live in with the perfect house they want and then say I’ve got my ideal life I don’t want anything to disrupt it.
There are never people under 40 protesting.

These people are c***s and hypocrites

Aldo, I find this post offencive.
You don't have to be over 65 to be against our green and pleasant land being destroyed.
