Not much point in training on a billiard green if you play on a ploughed field! So will the Kassam pitch too then!

Didn't we have to pay for the last pitch work at the stadium though? Not down to the club though is it!

And so will probably have to sort out the poorly installed pitch we paid for then. Hopefully we are taking legal action, as was told at an OxVox members meeting.No. We choose to. And probably still are through arbitration
Dunno. But imo with the stadium situation and relationship as it is, you would be bloody crazy to chuck the half a mill needed at a new pitch at this timeAnd so will probably have to sort out the poorly installed pitch we paid for then. The ridicule here is that the club invest to move forward and yet the ground we play on is held back by "the club's custodian"The better the training the pitch the less injuries u pick up as well, the club cant do a lot about the kassam, it can invest and make what we do own, the best it can possibly be. Its quite funny that for months people have been moaning at tiger for having no money, he spends thousands on a pitch and it gets ridiculed
Totally. So people suggesting we pay to improve the pitch before we agree a new (better) lease or possibly a ground move is a little crazy. And literally throwing money away. Theres a new company in charge at the kassam and while not a bowling green it wasnt as bad as it has been last season, so hopefully they can do something with it. Trouble being the under lying problem is the south stand, and money isn't going to be spent sorting thatThe ridicule here is that the club invest to move forward and yet the ground we play on is held back by "the club's custodian"
The sooner we get away from FK and his nonsense, the better.
Yes, totally. but the state of the pitch is VERY bad!Dunno. But imo with the stadium situation and relationship as it is, you would be bloody crazy to chuck the half a mill needed at a new pitch at this time

install a couple of large clear perspex panels in the roof of the South Stand replacing the current section(s) that keep that small section of playing surface in permanent shadow? ... kind of a greenhouse type thing allowing 'enhanced' sunlight/ natural warmth etc onto the affected areaAgree the problem is mainly due to South Stand shade, but surely we could hire some of those growing lights all the big clubs use during the dark winter months? Of course, that's assuming our lovely landlord will allow us access to do this or even plug them into the mains!
He will love it. Increase the electricity bill, he then passes the charge on to OUFC + 30% mark up so he makes a nice mark up profit without lifting a finger.Agree the problem is mainly due to South Stand shade, but surely we could hire some of those growing lights all the big clubs use during the dark winter months? fair shout @Dave T ... accurate tooI think that might have been in the original plans, but has definitely been looked at since in how to improve the stadium. But none of that is going to happen until there is change in stadium situation. Without a new long term lease, neither side are going to spend the money.
I thought that it was better last season.Yes, totally. but the state of the pitch is VERY bad!
Looks can be deceiving!I thought that it was better last season.
At the end of the season it seemed nowhere near as bumpy as in previous seasons.
As to VERY bad, there seemed to be worse pitches in way games?
