Maybe it was just the pressure of impressing his old man that caused him to struggle. Under another manager he may well have flourished. Brian Talbot could have got him bagging 20+ per season!

Interestingly Brian Talbot isn’t averse to a bit of Nepotism himself, playing his son Danny at Rushden and then making him chief European scout at Fulham despite having no scouting experience.

Brian himself of course was a top talent spotter, replacing Craig Davies with Neville Roach a particular highlight of his Midas touch.
