Good morning all, I hope you had a very drunken bank holiday.

So seeings as a twitter post probably isn’t your favourite method of interaction I thought I’d enter the lions mouth.

Whilst I know some of you don’t believe me, we are genuinely only interested in providing the best service we can, we put a lot of work and thought into everything we do. Sometimes we get it right, sometimes we don’t.

So that being said I want to know your feedback, opinions and suggestions, the good, the bad and the ugly. Some things we can pull off, some things will be impossible and some will be just plain weird, but my ears are open.

So you can either tell me below, message me on the old Twittersphere @Farrscatering or email me bailey@farrs.co

I look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Will you stock singha beer next season ?

We do appreciate it, and we know your hands are tied due to the stadium owners.

Could you maybe do fries?

Any way of having draft beer?
At the minute, with the investment needed and extra expense we would not look to put draft in, there’s wastage, gas, line cleaning and a slow down in serving speed to take into consideration. If there was more events or games it might then become worth while. But at the moment I feel bottles are the quickest and easiest way to serve. And I don’t need any staff that know how to pour a pint.
Meat and potato pies please
I’ll ask the supplier, we’ll see what they’ve got

we did look into fries, we always did, and still do very well from fries on the trailer outside. The issue is with the amount of money we would need to invest to serve chips. We have 8 units in the stadium, we calculated we would need 18-20 fryers to cook the amount of chips needed for the short serving time, at about £1500 a fryer, plus extraction, extra cleaning, and the added risk of boiling hot oil that can very easily seriously burn staff, as well as extra costs from insurance. I can safely say we probably won’t bring chips inside. And the other issue with chips are, they need to be fresh and hot, if you cook them 5 minutes too early they go soggy and cold, I can figure a way to ensure staff cook them correctly every time, the trailers work as it is us in the unit watching and using our knowledge to keep an eye on them.
If you served Americano coffee I would buy it.
our coffee machines do a black coffee, and we uses kenco Millicanno which does contain ground coffee. Due to the cost and training needed for barista staff we wouldn’t be able to bring proper espresso coffee machines in. There may be call for a proper coffee trailer for busier matches.

IMO the coffee is of very poor quality. It just seems very weak and very hot. Maybe a different brand needed.

I tend not to buy food and drink in the stadium as I’m not sure how much goes to the club and the stadium company.

Can you clarify? If I knew the club were getting some revenue I’d be more willing to spend.

Afternoon @Farrscatering ..... given theres a huge swing of opinion demonising the use of plastic, it does seem that what is an obviously intended to deter 'missiles' being thrown within football matches is, or soon will be, re-examined with a greener view to waste in mind, any idea how long before plastic bottles containing any kind of beverages are phased out in football stadium outlets?.... and what is likely to be their replacement?

I think we had the beer machine a couple of seasons back. Yes it was very impressive think it was only for one game

Niall said around 6 weeks ago that the club still doesn't make any money from food or drink sales.

Also @Farrscatering , I know you now accept card payments, but your card machines need to work in order for us to pay with card! I know there might be poor signal etc but how hard can it be?

Queing is a problem also with people pushing in etc, I know there is not much you can do with some ignorant twats I guess!

Have you ever tried to get a signal there at half-time? Nigh on impossible.

probably beyond farrs catering remit.... but, nonetheless wi fi is rubbish at the breeze block, question is can the tennents (oufc) improve the situation at least on matchdays, without the (slum) landlord serving up another spiteful Wup?

At present I cannot see a suitable alternative, with issues regarding glass and cans I cannot see an acceptable alternative. Especually when your dealing with a fizzy liquid under pressure. There is obviously a quality issue with whatever you put the product in. Whether that’s a flat tasting beer or a beer that has lost flavour. I think there is a future in draft but financially it is not worth is doing, if the concourses would have been designed as an open area you could look to specialise an area as a bar area and a food area. Assisting in the specialising of Staff for working on that area. With the current attitudes toward football and the behaviour of fans aluminium bottles will never take off, although I think that could be a decent alternative. I honestly see the future is in effective recycling of plastic instead of banning completely.
