Yeah great interview with Vaulks, such an asset to the club, with his coaching badge chat, I wonder if he's being shaped into a future OUFC coach/manager.
Very good conversation. I could have listened to an hour of that interview and Vaulks is so honest. Hopefully his family and kids get really settled here and he has a future coaching here.

Would have loved to hear more about why the manager change was “needed” but I guess some of this stuff is best kept behind closed doors.

Very open and honest interview. Not often you hear a player outright say that a manager being sacked was “needed”, mind.

Really pleased for him that his fortunes turned around so dramatically. Comes across as a decent guy, and his work off the pitch is first class.
Yeah his comments about the change of manager were interesting. Also seemed to be hinting that the technical side / having a plan for games wasn't there under Des – or am I reading too much into that?

I was found it pretty revealing/interesting that he seemed so open about essentially agreeing with the sacking of Des (but I absolutely appreciate the honesty)

He was also more open than I was expecting about his mistakes/poor form early in the season, often these things are alluded to in interviews but often not really handled directly.

I do enjoy a bit of northern "say it like it is" honesty!

I'd echo most of the comments above, regarding what a good listen it was.

Let's be honest, most footballers are quite boring. Will Vaulkes bucks that trend and comes across as a bloke you'd enjoy having a beer, or coffee with.
I think that's why Robyn dwelt so long on the early season wobbles. He was giving interesting answers that she wanted to explore

Thought it was very good..

Yes he wanted a change in manager but prob as the old manager wasn't playing him like he wanted

Who in there job has a boss they'd like to replace for this reason or that

Really impressive and great to hear a footballer speaking so honestly. I appreciated that he said the managerial change was needed and left it at that.

The phoning round the senior players ties in with what Gary said about the players themselves asking for the more defensive style.

I just want to chip in an say i liked him a lot before the interview and like him even more now, we seem to have some genuinely good people at the club. I know he stays off social media and all that but if he ever saw this forum and a thread with his name on, i hope to the baby jesus he skips some of the earlier pages and starts about here 😉

If he reads page one, he'll see this aboslutely nonsense predication:

Thats a good shout, they should make that man a moderator or something! Just Imagine if Vaulks had that ankle surgery during the season, he could play on whilst using crutches and absolutely chopstick the ball into the area, he'd have been like an unstoppable trebuchet
