The fact that he's now got a twitter account worries me. That would have been suggested by his PR/agency people. He could go right to the top, and if at any time the board's ambition doesn't match his own, he might well want to progress if the chance arises.

Saturday was a masterclass from Des.

A couple of months ago we looked like 11 blokes that had turned up to play Bolton that had never played before, didnt know each other and werent interested, Des looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him up. To turn it around to that degree in such a short time span is a serious achievement.

The significant improvement came when Des eventually got the right management team. It certainly looks like the input from the analyst has been vital. The subtle changes in formation designed to cope with opposition strengths and exploiting weaknesses should not be overlooked.

Ok i admit i said get rid after the 5-0 Bolton debacle but i've been proved wrong congratulations to Des and the whole team a season of ups and downs but a fantastic ending will definitely renew my season ticket no matter how much it costs i'm sure next season will be just as entertaining.

I think I fall in the camp of wanting it to work for Des and like many had my doubts after the 5-0 and I think probably every fan had their doubts to different degrees after that result.
My biggest complaint at that time was a complete inability to control a game. What I find remarkable is the turnaround in the playoffs where we managed both semi-final and final perfectly, looked in complete control of the situation in the final and clearly every player knew their role and executed the game plan. So sorry Des - I don’t think you had a game plan to control games and that has well and truelly been proved wrong on the biggest stage and managed games better than I can remember since I don’t know when….

Never once slated him, unfortunately some just don't get how football works and are too quick to chuck their toys our the pram.

Sadly that is exactly how football works… fans are fickle.

I just hope a lesson has been learned by a few. I guess we’ll find out next season.

Once the players down tools, and you lose large chunks of the fanbase. It only ends with one outcome.

It’s an ideal time to pull the trigger in my opinion. We know we are safe, and we have time to do a proper process, and let’s say 4 games before the end of the season. It would give the new manager a chance to see who he wants to keep, and has the whole summer to bring in players, that he feels we need to build a balanced squad.

I’d happily take Short until the change is made. Mike Duff is very appealing.

Another tactical masterclass today. We didn't let norwich play one bit. A catalyst to bring for the rest of the season. High intensity will mean we need more reinforcements for the crucial parts of the season. Fantastic start!
