The forum would encourage all members to consider joining OxVox during this important moment in our history. See here for more information.
The Chairman has acknowledged that the club haven't done a good job with communicating with the fan base over the last few months and has said this will improve. It is now time to let the club show the fan base that they mean what they say and wait and see if things do improve over the coming months.Whilst I'm ranting here - Ryan Maher shouldn't get a free pass here. There was a conversation in this thread last week comparing Maher to Chris Williams and - I paraphrase - but the view of some people was they're doing different jobs, Maher is to produce content where as C Williams' was much more of an old school comms role (match reports, interviews, programme pieces etc.)
I agree that much of the video content produced by the club in the last couple of years has been superb. The campaigns with Will Vokes and referencing Joey are just what we should be doing as a club.... kudos. BUT Ryan, your job title is Head of Media & PR so lack of comms - especially lack of engagement with Radio Oxford is at your door. You may well be not able to communicate based on instruction from people above you (Chairman, CEO etc.) but at what point does the only communication coming from OxVox and FAB become an embarrassment to the point where you consider your position? It's not a good look mate.
No sorry Steve. You get the respect you show to others. Great he's now moving here, great there have been mistakes and he's learning from them. I fully respect someone getting a job abroad that they may not have expected to get even a month before appointment will take some time to fully relocate. However, he's been chairman since early May.The Chairman has acknowledged that the club haven't done a good job with communicating with the fan base over the last few months and has said this will improve. I would also suggest that we should maybe show a man who is moving to Oxfordshire for the job a bit more respect and cut out the 'AI chairman' stuff now (this isn't aimed at you Jonny, just a general point).
Maybe he’s moved to the Customer Services department?
Hopefully Tim but Dim as gone
At the OxVox AGM , OxVox chair Paul Peros said , words to the effect of, When Grant Fergerson became chairman, at the first meeting he had with OxVox he ,(GF) gave OxVox his email addressNo sorry Steve. Three months later there hasn't been anything other than an introduction in form of a press release with no photo, let alone a video. He was appointed on 8 May and that intro comms was released on 4 June. The transfer embargo became clear on approx. 1 / 2 / 3 July and it took until 15 July for anything to come out of the club. OxVox asked for an urgent meeting with Chair or CEO on approx. 3 July and it took until 31 July to have Zoom call. They weren't provided with his email address to contact him directly (edit - I don't know that OxVox have always had Chairman / CEO email contact so have removed this) There still hasn't been any interview with Radio Oxford or any other independent media.
I'm thoroughly annoyed and angry about this disrespect. The chairman had the option to show more respect and communicate better but chose not to. If that means I'm calling him Claude, or Gemini and you think it shows a lack of respect from me, well sometimes you reap what you sow.
More Marie Celeste I think.Schrodinger's CEO.
More Marie Celeste I think.
I think that’s Ole Romenij.Adrift and abandoned, plausible. What about the Flying Dutchman whose appearance, Wikipedia tells us, "is believed to signal imminent disaster."?
I think that’s Ole Romenij.
(Ps I was in this performance of TFD a couple of months ago https://www.waso.com.au/sounds-stories/2026/listen-now-the-flying-dutchman).
I'm in the chorus. Maltman was absolutely unbelievable. Plus, we didn't do a staged performance - concert style instead. We've done a couple of Wagners like this in recent years and they work really well (our Tristan and Isolde recording won an award). With Wagner the music stands well on its own.That's awesome, what were you doing? Maltman has been superb in the Ring in covent garden the past few years.
I saw a Dutchman in Birmingham earlier this year with the Welsh National Opera - sounded great but the budget cuts took a noticeable toll on the staging.
That's fantastic stuff, I'm a nut for Wagner. I had to leave Tristan half way through a few weeks ago in the Cotswolds because they started cancelling trains in the heat. Things weren't looking good in act 2 but I'm assuming it all ends well!?I'm in the chorus. Maltman was absolutely unbelievable. Plus, we didn't do a staged performance - concert style instead. That means you missed the cor Anglais solo at the start of act 3 o:That's fantastic stuff, I'm a nut for Wagner. I have a much worse crime. I don't live locally. Therefore I have no opinion.To quote Partridge, they're clearly sub-human scum.
Choral duties on a Friday, pissing in Kidlington gardens on a Saturday. Disgusting.
It might be, but I don’t understand half of it, well most of itDon't spoil it, this is peak YF stuff!

Some of the players he signed shouldn't be in footy kits either.Here: (BTW I know Tim shouldn't be in footy kit, but CBA to make a new one).

Tim Williams, known as the Trivago Guy, has returned to the U.S. after living in Germany for over 20 years. He was replaced in Trivago commercials by a new actor using AI technology.
Who does he play for?If you should pee, think only this of me:
That there’s some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer puddle concealed;
A puddle whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam;
A body of England’s, farting English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
Apologies to Rupert Brooke![]()
He played for England between 1939 and 1945.Who does he play for?
