General The Board & Senior Management

Oxford United Football Club has confirmed changes to its Board, with the appointment of Rudi Laksmana and Dusan Bogdanovic as directors, effective immediately.

As part of the changes, Dusan Bogdanovic has been appointed Chair, succeeding Grant Ferguson, who steps down from the role after four years but will remain on the Board. The Club thanks Grant for his leadership and contribution during a period of significant progress.

The appointments reflect Oxford United’s continued focus on strengthening leadership, governance and long‑term strategy as the Club looks positively to the future.

Following these changes, the Board comprises Anindya Bakrie, Grant Ferguson, Rudi Laksmana, Dusan Bogdanovic (Chair) and Sumrith “Tiger” Thanakarnjanasuth.

Exactly. It seems unlikely that an Indonesian based Serbian agent has been brought in to oversee the stadium build doesn’t it?

If you’re referring to my post a page or so back, I was referring to Laksmana. Perhaps I should have worded that better!

Why the Indonesian based Serbian is here, is anyone’s guess. On first glance at limited information online, he doesn’t look qualified to be Chairman of a league 1 football club in England, but then again Marcelino Ferdinan wasn’t qualified to be a Championship footballer either.

Like I previously said; I’m not sure Grant played a significant role in our promotion or stadium progress. He always appeared to be very ‘light touch’, so I’m not sure he will be greatly missed anyway.

Time will reveal all.

I think one thing we’ve been lacking at board level are football people who are focused on the on-field stuff. A lot of focus has been on the finances and stadium recently, but the footballing side has seemingly been left to do its own thing without many checks and balances from people who truly get it.

Whether these two additions will be the answer to that though, who knows

I am not sure having people come in who have worked with ET before on 2 big projects such as DC United and Inter Milian is a bad thing.

This is Bogdanovic’s LinkedIn profile. Sorry doesn’t scream out to me at being a likely profile for a successful chair of our club. Guess we’ll see..

However if with his contacts he can organise a multi million pound sale of Romeny to an Indonesian club then I might change my opinion!

Let's be honest Grant and Tim oversaw a poor year ,I think Grant asked for the move you can see Tim going very soon which is what alot of people have been asking for ,I do think we are heading for an overseas manager very quickly. The ground is no 1 but the boss won't want mid table ,we need changes to the team we can't be that happy with what we have in the building ,we won't win many away games with this team or the squad thats left we need 6or 8 players in with a no10 an attacking midfielder, 2 more wingers and a really good no9 ,come on Erik we are going up sing we are going up.

And if you Google the Foundation...tumbleweed

I’m actually feeling quite uneasy about these latest developments. We have no idea who our new chairman is. He seems like the type of person who brokers deals. This could be the start of more significant changes.

I hope Oxvox have already arranged talks with the new incumbents for as soon as possible to get more clarification

Did we know a lot about Grant Ferguson? Other than he likes golf do we know a lot more now? They are both Thohirs men, both based miles aways so it’s not a huge change in the respects of what we know. Just have to wait and see what he brings that’s different.

Christ, first glance I’ve given OUFC since this morning, thank god I had a G&T in hand…

At least Ferguson has been pushed aside, he lost me at the early season forum when he point blank lied to the fan base about a critical point around the budget and in truth, he and Tim looked thick as thieves that day and needed splitting up.

Hard to know what the credentials of the new guys are. Bit murky, isn’t it? Nothing of substance in the UK but I do like the idea of Thohir having more of his trusted advisors involved rather than Tim & Grant looking after each other. Hopefully this changes the line of communication and introduces some much needed accountability.

Interesting to see what happens to Bloomfield now. I don’t think he was Thohir’s man at all, and if the new chaps are aligned with him then he may well find himself turfed out for a new regime.

Hard to make a**e or face of our club at the moment!

RL has also been a long term Director of Oxford Investment Holdings PTE, the Singapore holding company which owns the majority of shares in OUFC.

I haven't looked for several months to see if any shareholdings have changed, though I expect more shares issued to cover funding losses.

Would you be happy for Tim Williams to leave tomorrow if it meant Ole Romeny's agent was our new CEO?

I assuming Williams does a bit more about the place than Ferguson though?

I don’t have a clue how this plays out but Ferguson is hardly the biggest golfing shoes to fill is he, was barely ever here.

I would have thought that the lingua of business in Indonesia is English and Serbs learn English at school. One of my best friends is Serbian and English is v.proficient as well as Maths is A1. Plus there is no reason to relocate these days with online conferences for run of the mill stuff. I imagine that 4 years is a fair time to serve as Chair and maybe Grant didn't have the heart to carry on for another season after relegation. Still fresh ideas and all that unless people think that the club is suddenly going to be run into the ground.

I believe Jerome has said it a few times on The Dub that decisions such as the hiring of the manager go through Thohir so Bloomfield was very much ‘his’ choice.

Whether he sticks with him or not is another question.

We took 3 weeks to appoint him when he was out of contract and would’ve walked here in reverse against oncoming traffic to get the job.

If he was Thohir’s man, why the wait?

Wasn’t the delay in Bloomfield’s appointment due to Thohir needing a bit of convincing that he was the best candidate?

I thought I read somewhere that when Ed and Tim suggested him, Thohir needed a bit of time to ‘vet’ him personally.

Having said that, I’m as critical of Ed and Tim as anyone but I think I prefer them suggesting the candidates than Thohir. I’m very grateful of his plans and investment but I’d worry if he had complete control of decisions like that.purely because of how detached he is from things

People were calling for a clear out and a fresh start. Get rid of them all. Top to bottom. Staff/board members leave. New guys appointed. “Not sure these are the right guys”! Love this place!

Not sure how this is relevant.

I want Bloomfield out but if we sacked him tomorrow and replaced him with Graham Westley then I wouldn’t be happy.
