General The Board & Senior Management

Oxford United Football Club has confirmed changes to its Board, with the appointment of Rudi Laksmana and Dusan Bogdanovic as directors, effective immediately.

As part of the changes, Dusan Bogdanovic has been appointed Chair, succeeding Grant Ferguson, who steps down from the role after four years but will remain on the Board. The Club thanks Grant for his leadership and contribution during a period of significant progress.

The appointments reflect Oxford United’s continued focus on strengthening leadership, governance and long‑term strategy as the Club looks positively to the future.

Following these changes, the Board comprises Anindya Bakrie, Grant Ferguson, Rudi Laksmana, Dusan Bogdanovic (Chair) and Sumrith “Tiger” Thanakarnjanasuth.

I'd say that was an understatement. Increasingly worried that our new, Indonesian-based football agent/Chairman is going to be about as effective as Ole Romeny. Hopefully, I'm proven wrong.

I'd feel a little more relaxed if a highly experienced MD/Director of Football is announced.
You would certainly hope he's not the man behind our mounting pile of failed Dutch / Indonesian signings...

He's got to be in it for Oxford United - not himself (or his "clients").

Tim Williams not listed in that press release.

Does that mean he's quietly left or just not considered part of 'The Board'?

You get the hint that the football club is a fairly small part in a far bigger project with the stadium and the opportunities it will provide for folk to make some serious £££`s.

Get the right people in and if it all clicks it`ll be a hell of a ride or collapse like a deck of poorly stacked cards.

We don`t do "mediocre", its part of the fun.

Both worked for big Erick at DC United and Inter Milan. The same group own two clubs in Indonesia. Would be rather splendid if they bought some of our players for bank....

Both worked on the DC United Stadium and Inter Milan re-finance and sale.

Expect - Shiny exotic players. Not much mention of hot dogs.

I think this is down to the relegation, rumours of budget mishandling this end may be true. lots of whispers during the closing moments of the season over disquiet on the budget vs final league place. This could be that, or it could be planned anyways. Who knows? I don't

How shiny and how exotic?!

So what do we think is the driver behind these changes?
And do we think it would have happened if we'd stayed up?

A mixture of things, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Grant was eased out the door, as a direct result of club performance in the season that has just concluded.

Despite what some would have you believe, our budget was most certainly not a relegation one, and our clusterfuc& of a summer ultimately resulted in us paying the upmost price - relegation.

If anyone of us were fronting £18,000,000 losses and a relegation, would you be happy to keep the man charged with Chairing the organisation in charge?

All that said, it could just be that he wants the new chap(s) expertise on the stadium build, given their involvement at DC United.

Although this mostly makes sense, one thought I have is does the new chairman need to be cleared by the EFL's owners and directors test before being announced? If so, how long does that take? The changes could have been planned for a while.

It’s a fair point. Although you could argue that relegation has been on the cards for a while.
