Could their Saudi Arabia PIF own a club in the Championship as well as Prem?

Or is it another Saudi Arabia investor?

Not sure if there's anyone of interest in this shot of the directors box today..

"He has detained people for posting critiques of him on social media; those detained are reportedly in an area of al-Ha'ir prison which detainees call the "Tutu Wing", referencing his nickname."

Sounds a lovely chap!

That'll definitely thin this forum out a little. @greatunclekip is going into hiding as we speak!!

Whereas Scotchers is preparing his defences as we speak “ well, he does imprison dissenters who have obviously forgotten Histon, but he did give the training ground a bloody lovely lick of Farrow and Ball so swings and roundabouts”

Whoever it is probably won't be British, we have very few successful business people who have the necessary wealth to fund a Championship football club.

Perhaps it's the Oracle guy who's invested a few quid into Oxford over the past few years?
The Oracle guy, being Larry Ellison, worth £300Billion+!

That is some ‘science’ footprint happening at Littlemore.

I don't think we should be surprised to hear these rumours. We need to raise a shed load of cash before the bulldozers can start digging. It's not an usual thing to convert some of those loans to equity.

It was always going to happen, however I do wonder if there may have been a few interested parties waiting for the go ahead on the stadium before pushing for a full takeover or using the stadium funding as a way to leverage a takeover. I’m sure every club feels this way about their club but I’ve always felt we could be a very attractive option for a big hitter one day.

Couldn't agree more. The profile of the city is just crying out for it isn't it.

If Bournemouth can attract huge foreign investment, then there's absolutely every reason to believe Oxford can, too.

I guess for that reason we should be very thankful we don't support a team from a cultural backwater like S***don or Reading.

Bournemouth should be our case study. 2nd in the Premier League with a lower average attendance than us. How do they stay within the rules?

They didn't. But now they are there, the revenue in the PL has little to do with match day attendance. It is about TV money and transfer income. In the last 5 years they've sold players totalling around £400m.

The planning being granted and the secretary of state not calling this in has definitely made one individual very interested in taking over the club now.

Some may say why wouldn't erick and Co stick round as the club will be more valuable with a new stadium, let's not forget £180 million needs to be paid to build this stadium and the only way they're going to make that money back short term is take us up into Premier league where revenue will rocket.

If they fail to achieve that they will be ultimately selling the club at a loss as the stadium has to be available to the club and the land it sits on is to be owned by the county Council.

Erick and Co may have a lot of money but in my opinion they aren't business men that will throw money at a project without knowing they will make a huge return.

They could quite easily sell the club now and make a decent return on that they've invested over the years.

How wealthy is this one individual?
