We are now at the halfway point of the season (well, it will be after the Fleetwood game) and although we have different teams to play including teams that play different formations, teams that may change their style of play to stop our free flowing football and teams not wanting to play football at all (although Wycombe are no longer in this league).
.
With every player fit we now have arguably one of the best 15 or 16 squad players in this league and although McGuane will be sidelined for the next 3-4 weeks our starting XI is almost picking itself after the peformances and results we have achieved over the last two months.
.
Jack Stevens - Nailed on
Sam Long - Nailed on
Josh Ruffles - Nailed on
Elliott Moore - Nailed on
Rob Atkinson - Nailed on
Alex Gorrin - Nailed on
Cam Brannagan - Nailed on
Marcus McGuane - Nailed on (choose from Liam Kelly, Antony Forde or Jamie Hanson to cover the next 3 weeks)
James Henry - Nailed on (Well, certainly after the Rochdale game)
Matty Taylor - Nailed on (Sam Winnall as cover however he needs to find his fitness, team awareness and his goalscoring boots)
Olamide Shodipo - is Probably 1st choice however it is close between Agyei & Obita for the final position, probably dependant on our opposition.
All 17 players listed will more than play their part in getting us up the table in league 2 and hopefully cement our position in the top 6.

Sykesy, Robbie Hall and Osei Yaw look to frozen out and Mous will only feature if absolutely nessesary.

Overall we are blessed with midfielders and front players however a couple of lay offs for the back 4 and that would hurt us the most...
.
Transfer targets, positions and personel coming in - God only knows......

Looking at that we basically could just do with a really good starting right winger (a la Gavin Whyte, that level) and a backup CB, and we’ve got a superb team then.

Why can't Henry replace Mcguane? Last night first half we had Hanson covering for the injured mcguane and it didn't really work with both Hanson and Gorrin getting each others way. Henry comes on second half for Hanson and it completely swinged the game in our favour. I reckon if Henry would of started last night we would of been out of sight at half time.

The best team to start is

Stevens
Long Moore Atkinson Ruffles
Gorrin
Henry Brannagan
Agyei Taylor Shodipo

It simply doesn't work like this anymore. The high octane modern pressing game means players rotate more. Players dip in and dip out of form. I just don't see us as having a first 11. Take Shodipo. A couple of months ago some on here were saying he should be sent back to QPR. Now he is in some peoples first 11.

Stevens
Long Moore Atkinson Ruffels
Brannagan Gorrin McGuane
Henry Taylor Shodipo

Eastwood
Forde Mousinho _____ Obita
Sykes Hanson Kelly
_____ Winnall Aygei

2 signings needed minimum.

That's because his general play has improved quite a lot.

Basically agree with the OP, but as shown on Tuesday, and other games this season, with his lack of pace Henry is much more suited to midfield role than one of the front three. So, while McGuane is out I'd say our best midfield three is:
Henry, Gorrin, Brannagan.

Back five surely everyone agrees on at present, and CF.

That just leaves the two wide forward positions, so take your pick from Shodipo, Obita and (the not a winger) Agyei.
