Blackburn a side thats only ever won things when 1. there was only about 20 professional clubs around 2. when Jack Walker outspend everyone for 1 season.

Youd have to be over 100 years old to have seen them winning anything apart from Jack Walkers side.

2002 League Cup, in fairness. They had quite a good side under Souness around then. Matt Jansen, a couple of good final seasons out of Andy Cole, Henning Berg, Brad Friedel, David Dunn, Damien Duff and a 38-year old Mark Hughes who was also still playing and manager of Wales.

Blackburn have - by an absolute mile - filled the lowest % of seats in the Championship this season. About 42%.

They are exactly the same as Reading and Wigan. Fundamentally a small-to-medium sized club that's got a far bigger stadium than they need (and in their case, a fuller trophy cabinet) because of one supporter's largesse.

When teams like Southampton and Leicester look down their noses at us, it's annoying but it's not completely unreasonable - they are clubs with much bigger fanbases, vastly more resources and much greater potential (currently) than we have.

When Blackburn fans do it, it's just showing a desperate lack of self-awareness.

I had a good #teamslikeOxford from the football league paper last Sunday. Actually quite complimentary that teams like Oxford and Pompey know what they are doing, whereas Leicester and West Brom aren’t expecting to be in a relegation scrap. (Already posted in last weekend fixtures , but here again)!

I loved the one from yesterday after the game where a rant has us having no history and being no marks but they won the PL don't ya know......

Their forum match thread had plenty. Plenty reasonably argued that the performance was abject when playing a poor Championship team who were below them.

What I’ve been enjoying this season (and last, but I’ve noticed it more this year) is that every time we win a game there are a plethora of articles/forum posts/social media posts along the line of the losing side has delivered their ‘worst performance ever’. Or a variant of this is ‘the lowest moment we’ve ever had’.

It’s NEVER Oxford have played well. ALWAYS that our opposition has sunk to unfathomable new lows

Ironically the only two clubs in the current Premier league that haven’t lost at Oxford are Liverpool and Spurs so they have only beaten one more of the Premier league than us and it’s considerably more than a loss at Oxford for Newcastle.
