Tickets Sunderland FA Cup tickets

Those decades of experience are really proving their worth arent they?

I bought a ticket for the Sunderland cup game last Friday ( it was reserved with my ST)

Today I get an email informing me I have one day left to secure my reserved, reduced price ticket for the Sunderland FAcup game

Presume them there Decades of experiece havent encompased linking actual ticket sales to ST holders with the mail out databasefor any specific game then?
Yep. I got the same and already bought mine.

I remember getting tickets for the Man Utd cup tie in 83, we were queued 300 yards down the London Road :)

It was bloody freezing as well. I remember a group of lads in the que next to me playing card games to while away the hours.

How do I use my account balance to pay for the ticket? Got £51 on there but it's not giving me the option use it
Is that from the ticket exchange? If so, I think you can only use that against season ticket for next year.

These have disappeared altogether from the home matches section on the ticketing site om the website. Hopefully just the case that they've been taken down between ST seats being reserved and them going on general sale.

I did try and call the ticket office, but the recorded message says it's closed, and the ticket office information on the website also says they're closed on Wednesdays. Would be an interesting move if the phones weren't manned on the day these are due to go on general sale...

Tickets on General Sale.

And judging by the absolutely f*cking shitloads of ST seats now available I think we can safely put to bed the 'Sunderland is a great draw and/or the FA Cup is magic' argument.
What would you regard as a good draw? Obvs the cup isn't what it was but it's an extra home game so I'm not complaining.

Reckon we'd have definitely sold out vs. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool. Probably Man City (although there might have been a bit of fatigue having played them several times recently). Maybe Villa & Newcastle.

That's probably about it.

Just drawing any old Premier League team at home doesn't bring the same excitement when you're only a league below them, and especially when it's a team that we've played as often recently as we have Sunderland.

So it's pretty much the best draw going bar half a dozen others?

In terms of getting a home draw and selling out the crowd, yes.

I would probably rather have had Macclesfield home or away as well (should win, and get on TV) and if I was still living in the UK, I would have wanted Fulham, West Ham, Brentford or Brighton away (as well as those same six) as new grounds (or very long time since we've played there grounds in the case of Craven Cottage) as well.

So what does that make it, ~tied for the 19th best draw (alongside half a dozen other possible home games against Premier League sides)?

So all in all, a very slightly better than average draw.

And in the 4th round, a better than average draw should surely get the juices flowing. We don't get into this round that often after all.

I'd say the 4th Round is the watershed round - it's like being on the precipice of doing something memorable.

Win this one though (and we could - especially if Sunderland take it lightly) and then it does start getting exciting regardless of who we face. Glory awaits!

I think any of the promoted teams we played against last season was always going to be a bit meh, at least it’s been a while since we played the other teams in the prem.

Last time we reached the 4th round was 2019/20 when we had that epic tie with Newcastle.

Last time we reached the 5th round was 2016/17 when we had that trip to Middlesbrough. (What is it about the north-east?)

Last time we reached the 6th round was 1963/64 when we lost to Preston North End

Wow
Just seen number of tickets still available for this game.
Even our resident dot counter would be up all night managing to provide data.
What's up with us fans.

  • unlike a normal league game, season ticket seats aren't automatically shown as taken
  • season ticket holders have to pay
  • sunderland aren't a "big six" team in the EPL and in recent years we've played them a few times in the Championship and league one.
  • it's a Sunday.

And !

Well, I’m looking forward to it, personally.
When we win this, and draw Manchester United at home in the next round, I hope first dibs on tickets goes to those who turned up.
How sad that a home fixture with a premier league side should be so easily dismissed by some.
