Hah, people on here love to post little cryptic comments to try to perhaps imply that they know something. No evidence is given, so it's impossible to tell if they are a genuine ITK or not. I think only a select few are, based on previous history.
We know who to listen to by now, and sometimes it isn’t even about quality, it’s delivery. I cant bring myself to answer calls for an ego stroke. If you’ve got info, great, share it, but the peacocking is beyond yuck.

Am I the only one I bit underwhelmed about signed Matos.I think we need better.
I’ve posted previously along similar lines. I don’t think he’s better currently than what we already have. Proof is that he wasn’t a regular starter last season, although did contribute perfectly adequately when he did start or when he came on as a sub.

If we are signing him permanently then I can see the upside. He won’t count towards the squad cap for 25/26 as he’s currently only 20, and he still has huge potential for significant improvement and to be a valuable asset for the future.

If we were only to get him back as a loanee again then it would be much less attractive as we’d be developing him for Chelsea and he’d count towards the squad cap.

More than happy if he’s to be a permanent new player based on his age and potential.

I think he’s more than capable of covering 6 and 8 now, but agree it’s the long term potential that really appeals. Brannagan’s 29 and Vaulks is 31. Basically both a decade older.

Matos on a perm or season long loan with an obligation to buy (if the squad cap challenge can be managed) would be an excellent signing.

I don’t see how a loan without any permanency works for anyone really at this stage of his career and Chelsea contract.

We are not shopping in any kind of β€˜bargain bucket’ believe me.

We obviously can not attract players or compete with clubs in top 10-12 of our league. But we are willing to match absolutely anyone else in our league….
Good to hear.
Interested which of the two brackets Blackburn sit in (I think they were the other club in for De Keersmaecker)? I assume with their limited buying power at the moment, it’s the latter.

One plays as a wingback/winger and one as a defensive midfielder or presser.

Can’t really compare. Literally everyone has said matos isn’t creative.
He played the majority of last season as a left-back and you were telling us we shouldn’t sign him due to the lack of goal involvements?

He was outstanding on multiple occasions.

For my money, the best player on the pitch at Carrow Road - quite possibly the best individual performance by any Oxford player the whole of last season.

He performed well on multiple occasions but also disappointed on others. He did have a good game at Norwich, not sure it was quite the best individual performance of the season by an Oxford player, that’s stretching things quite a lot, but it’s all about opinions. The fact he wasn’t a regular starter for us and also only started approx half of the remaining games we had after the Norwich match probably implies he’s overall on a par or just below the best midfielders we already have at the club.

He can obviously play multiple positions and has age and the ability to improve massively on his side. So I don’t think he’s there yet as a nailed on starter if we sign him, but as I’ve said he’d be worth us signing on a permanent basis given age and potential.
