I would say a center forward is more important than new wingers right now. I can certainly see at least 1 new wide made coming in as well. Rowett has always played with a big hold up type striker which we don't have.

Apart from the one we do have. WG might be given pre-season to see if he could do a job for us.

It’s not a case of either/or. We need to recruit at least one winger and at least one striker.

I’d expect we’ll see a total of three new attackers come in, in one form or another.

Would like Phillips to go out, to make room - but just can’t see it happening. He’ll likely be cover for LB/LWB which to be fair to him, he played well in, in those cameos towards the end of the season.

Placheta will stay. I suspect if one winger goes out it’ll be either Dembele or Mills. Mills would be an easy loan out to a L1 club, I wonder if Dembele will be moving on.. can’t imagine he’ll be sold though considering what we forked out for him last summer.

It’s lack of athleticism in midfield…the inability to break in to the final 3rd at pace, rarely creating overload situations…oh and maybe a winger and a couple of strikers of quality.

It's pace and movement in midfield or wherever that gets you places oh and putting decent crosses in with finishers on the end in the box. Easy isn't it this football game-the CL game last night will give several coaches food for thought for sure.

A common theme with us for some reason, our players always seem small and lightweight compared the opposition.

Hopefully Rowett recognises the need for more physicality and athleticism in the squad.

I don’t think many strikers would have scored 20+ goals for us last season, we simply didn’t create enough. Too many people blame the lack of goals on the lack of a quality striker, it’s a two sided coin. We need to create more chances, we granted do also probably need a slightly more clinical striker when we do make those chances. Hence we need 2 wingers, a holding midfielder (to add control and allow others to get forward more) and also another striker and we should then see more goals being scored.

Need a new striker as well 100% but if we’re not creating anything, we could have Haaland up front and still struggle to score

Completely agree, it’s so difficult to pass judgement on our strikers when they have no service from the dynamism of wingers or strong ball progressors. It’s clear and obvious. We need consistent performers.

Problem for Mills is that if the club want to bring 2 new wingers in (seems highly likely), then realistically one of Dembele, Placheta or Mills needs to make way… rightly or wrongly Mills feels like the one most likely to be loaned out.

No chance Mills to go, when we played Derby at their place Shemmy got no change from their defenders and couldn’t get past them but Molls replaced him and got in don’t useful runs and crosses into the box.

Oh I’m not saying I agree it should be Mills first out, I’d rather Dembele personally, but I struggle to see him or Placheta being moved on and I do believe we’ll be looking to bring in 2 wingers. With the squad cap, something’s got to give.

Preseason could change things but from Rowett’s point of view if it’s a choice between Mills playing a bit part with us, or playing good minutes week in week out at a top half league one team (a la Currie), I think that’s a decision he could make.

But is that the choice? Surely the other option (and one that I think is what will happen) is that after a preseason with the team and rebuilding his fitness after his injury, Mills will play a big part for us this season.

I think it depends who is or becomes available to us.
