Came in hoping to see that we were linked with some stunners, only to find that fans were suggesting we could “easily replace” one of about 5 players we have in Cumming who is consistent Championship quality, and who would get into most other Champ teams as he’s actually not that good.

Never change Oxford fans :)

When Kip is the reasonable poster in any debate, you know the Forum has fucked it.

Be more Kip!

You resurfaced on here to get some attention.

😂

Although I don’t think it would be “Easy” to replace him, I do think it’s “easier” trying to find a goalkeeper than it is most other players.

IF (I hope we don’t) we do sell JC it will be reluctantly and for a considerable fee, and in return you could go and reinvest on someone maybe slightly older but still at a very good level. (Maybe somebody like Hazard from Argyle?)

Also the loan market for GK tends to be filled with players at a good level, both GK leading goal prevented stats in L1 and L2 are loanees. So you could maybe look at someone like Josh Keeley?

Hopefully no one comes in for JC, especially Norwich as I can see why he’d want that move, but if he did go I wouldn’t panic massively as there seems to be some strong options in the market.

This is the sort of deal I’d like to see, I can’t claim to know much about him but given the squad cap rules nowadays this kind of deal for similar players just makes so much sense.

I do wonder if this is what Rowett means when he talks about 4/5 youngsters who will supplement the 25 man squad. If you bring in a few highly rated youngsters and they pay off and are able to contribute towards our progression without counting towards the squad cap they really could be a game changer.

Maybe Marcus Browne could put in a good word

I wonder if we had anyone watching the Jamaica game the other day. Obviously Greg Leigh, Kasey Palmer who we’ve been linked with and one I hope we’re keeping an eye on Rumarn Burrell one I suspect won’t be short of interest this summer. Started very slowly at Burton Albion but has been on fire since the change in manager. Scored on his debut for the national team as well. I know he’s not got the championship experience people crave but definitely got a bright future.
Seen him a few times at the Albion ground has quality for sure wether he can do it in the championship is another question maybe abit more time needed if he is still doing it by Jan maybe someone to consider great finish on him and good pace. The locals love him.

If was more referring to this kind of deal but with us having a decent working relationship with Chelsea I wouldn’t be surprised if we were one of the clubs interested.

Oscar zawada from rkc waalwijk. Qpr and Blackburn also interested
Makes sense, been on the radar for a year or so now, I hoped we would’ve got him sooner.

Hasn’t done too badly since his move from Aus. Although we have lost a few targets to QPR in the past so hopefully if he’s out number 1 target we can get it over the line

James Golding and Josh Johnson signed new deals.

I can see Golding being a part of the squad next year due to under 21, and from whenever I’ve watched him he’s always been able to step up and good on the ball.

It will be interesting to see how these young players that Rowett has eluded to will be a mixture of homegrown versus purchases.

If we have a more serious U23/ U21 team, it will certainly help these type of players.

I'm slightly surprised we've offered Josh Johnson a new deal.

Not because he doesn't have talent, he clearly does, but feels like we've given him long enough now to break into the first-team and he hasn't made it.

Surely you can say the same about Golding too ?

I thought Johnson looked real quality in that cup tie at home to Crystal Palace and I'm surprised he hasn't made more of an impact in terms of breaking in to the first team set up.

Judging by Rowett’s comments he believes thats a pathway issue rather than the players’ which is now going to change

Their.

If you don't like transfer speculation then I would probably give this forum a miss for the next few months.
Speculation selling our best players and there valuation! Yes the same players that kept us in the championship that’s the reward they get from supporters, how much for him or him ! Embarrassing !!

Still think a couple of hundred grand spent on Jonny Kenny would be some investment.
