If say Scarlett starts tonight, we are a couple of goals down and not looking like getting back into it on the hour mark and Harris comes on then you would wonder why we wouldn't loan Goodwin out in January, if in that scenario you can't get a run out over an out of form Harris who has played a lot of minutes already then short of injuries you are never playing.

I will say that if we did somehow sign an Al Hamadi type (can't see it being him or anyone at that level but still) I have a feeling Spurs might recall Scarlett if they get a hint he won't be starting much, so its a complicated situation.
Agree on Goodwin. I can’t quite get my head around what’s going on there and when things aren’t going well it’s common sense to look at what else is in your ranks that you haven’t tried. He’s surely top of that list, but Scarlett is the deserving starter at the moment.

I suspect Spurs sent him here knowing full well that Harris, having scored nearly 20 goals last year, would need dislodging so I don’t see it changing too much in their mind if we send one out and get one in bearing in mind Harris’ form is likely to reduce him to the bench for a while.

I’d keep faith with Scarlett. He’s a natural goal scorer, of that there is no doubt. His goals have been so instinctive and should shine a light on why people are hard on Harris when he misses dolly-ups. I know one striker is the done thing now but maybe the two of them together is not a daft idea.

Hoping we will buy/loan a 20-goal-a-season striker in January is Pie in the Sky. Absolutely no chance. We need the over-expensive Goodwin to get onto the pitch and justify his fee.

Goodwin coming good would be the best 'financial' outcome. I think he has some real quality attributes but needs to get some minutes on the pitch. If he continues to sit on the bench having not convinced the manager to get on, then he needs to go, same with Malcolm E.

I just don't think we expected to be a Championship club when we went in for him.

We are still making use of other players who are not, with the best will in the world, championship quality though so that’s why it’s a puzzling one.
He is a big, strong lad who was at Stoke before Cheltenham signed him and he did enough to justify us paying a fee to sign him even when he was injured, so either our scouts/recruitment team are useless or he has something about him, hard for him to show it if he can’t get on the pitch no matter how out of form Harris is.

Judging from the last couple of games, Des now doesn't even think that Ebiowei is worth a place on the bench. Marselino now ahead of him.

Suspect he'll be heading back on January 1st to free up another squad and loan place.

Correct.

His attitude isn’t of one you want for a relegation battle.

Very much in the Burey mould.

All that promise and he’s gonna end up in L1 next year at best

Could we be interested?

Aston Villa may recall 21-year-old English striker Louie Barry from his loan spell at Stockport in January and send him out on loan to a Championship club, with SheffieldWednesday and Middlesbrough leading the chase. (Star)

As we miss McQuane it’s Erhanon
Low, Moylan, Mayo and Kenny for me.

Can't believe Tyler Morton is sat around in the 21s!
Erhanon and Low I really like, does Erhanon play in a holding two or by himself for Lincoln? Not sure what system they play but we really need someone cable of playing the holding role by themself. Surely a top championship club will take Morton in January?

Poku from Peterborough please.

Erhahon from Lincoln please.

Two players I’d like us to be in for.
Peterborough turned down bids for Poku.
I cant see them agreeing to sell him for less than the £4.25m they received for Mason- Clarke. I am not sure that we are able to pay that sort of money yet.
