Finally the end of what has been probably the strangest signing in our history, a player who spent 75% of a 4 year contract playing in a different country (sort of) while we paid a chunk of his wages.

Not to mention chasing him to the detriment of all other positions, then being told by his MLS team that he still had a game to play after the contract was signed and wouldn't be available straight away for pre-season training.

Just bizarre all round. Up there with Hanson and Pekalski for me.

I forget about the chase and then the very weird thing of him playing for a club after signing for us, although that was a portent for what was to come I suppose.

I don't think we will ever again have a player leave us 3 years after they, in reality, left us. At least I hope not.

A Scottish international, mid-20's, was part of that mass movement from the SPL to the USA (which hadn't gone very well) that was looking to return to the UK (like Chris Cadden).

We'd just sold Luke McNally for significant profit (following Dickie and Atkinson) so seemed like the next one on the conveyer belt (especially if he played well and got back into the international conversation).

However, he lacked most of the skills we needed from a CB to replace McNally. Poor on the ball and slow on the turn.

An ill-conceived signing and I don't know why KR was so keen to sign him.

He’d be a decent enough player at this level for the right team. He was a terrible signing for the way we played under KR
