One of the pleasing things about yesterday was there was a bit of strength on the bench which ultimately turned the game in our favour. Just got to keep them here and fit now!

Just imagine how good our 11 and bench could be if Brian done his job, or when Woo and Roosken are back

Agree, still think we may be one attacker and one defender short of a decent squad here.Plus a keeper
Only saying this because injuries and suspensions come into play
If we can be in or just outside the playoffs come January we could have a real chance if doing something special this season

After todays performance, has anybody considered using the Embargo card keeps a team of Championship players at the club until at least January, with a perfect excuse to not let any go. Lets hope it works.

Yellow bastards
I think it's not what the EFL expected to happen, and it's backfired somewhat. What I think they forget is that most clubs who fall afoul of this are clubs dropping down from the Championship to League One, so naturally they'll have a decent number of players who are good for this league and also are courted by clubs in the division above.

The EFL probably expected us to sell until we brought the percentage down so we could trade players again, but the club has looked at it and thought 'we're not selling anyone', because to get within the 65% you'd have to sell a load of players and replace them with cheaper ones - it makes much better football sense to just keep the players you have and see how you go.

I mean, sure, Wintle would've been a good option and Thomas would have been a useful squad player, but I don't think they're better than keeping BDK & Mills will be. And if the club keep the promise that the embargo will be lifted in time for the winter window, if we can be there or there abouts, we should have a decent amount of funds for permanents and plenty of space for loanees come January.

Exactly. The 4 players we had lined up to sign allegedly were:
Wintle - would’ve been a great signing
Jordan Thomas - decent squad winger but no Mills
Southwood - decent backup GK but would’ve been on good money
Michael Mandron - scored yesterday but way off the level we should’ve been looking at

It hardly screams going for it really, and I’d agree we have a far better squad with what we’ve got, if not lacking a little depth

Agreed, but I think also we're probably quite a unique case in that most of the clubs for whom these restrictions will 'bite' will genuinely be short of cash after years of over-spending in the division above, or after having had an owner turn off the funding. The embargo will take effect because the owners genuinely don't have the money/desire to fund the club, so will need to sell regardless. We don't look to be in that situation (it doesn't appear - touch wood). We could very easily have flogged Mills and I'm sure others if we needed a quick buck, so the fact we haven't suggests it is genuinely a cashflow issue (which, to be fair, the club have stated all along).

Of course Dusan actually stated that it is not a cashflow issue:

"He said the club is not facing a cashflow issue but rather a timing issue. While this seemed slightly contradictory, we read this as meaning money was available but to pay it all by deadline it would have required selling some important player assets."

Yeah sounds like a cash flow issue to me 🤷‍♂️

Don't think Stevenage have even announced a total crowd yet.

The away end looked pretty full though on the highlights.
total crowd was 4112 - away end is 1390 capacity I believe.
