I dunno, I just thought Ramsey seemed keen to change the subject when pushed on Leigh. But if others didn't notice it, all good then, probably my imagination.I thought Ramsey was straightforward enough you only have 7 on the bench and you’re trying to cover all angles Long and Spencer took those two defensive places
As does Eastwood.Michal Helik returns to his old club Huddersfield for our next match as does Brodie Spencer.
Well said, eraser, I couldn’t agree with you more. The relentless criticism of officials is one of the major ills of the greatest of games.I wish people would stop looking to match officials for excuses. They're human, they make mistakes, just like you and I AND the players. Sometimes they're shocking decisions, sometimes questionable, sometimes subjective. I don't ever want to see sanitised VAR in the EFL. Accept it's part of the game, reign in the abuse. If you think you can do better then pick up the whistle and do it! I've done it for years, it's a lonely place where every decision is agreed with or disputed by 50% equally, but I don't expect to be subjected to abuse for doing my best. Would you take it in your workplace?
Do you not think that your kind of comments and petty scrutinisation, along with the unacceptable abuse that refs get at grass roots, leads to potentially really good refs jacking it in? Us, as fans, have a responsibility to respect at ALL levels. I'm sick and tired of armchair refs, and touchline Dad's that think their son or daughter is the next big thing, throwing abuse at humans trying to give you a game! No ref, No game! Go to this link -But in the workplace if you keep making obvious mistakes over and over you get fired. That doesnt appear to be the approach of the EFL to obviously incompetant referees. Today this guy, his decision making was nothing short of appalling. It started when he let off the Stevenage defender for an obvous yellow and then immediately books Heluk for a high foot. That set the tone, he put himself under pressure from players fans and coaches. He looked like he let a lot go and then picked a similar situation and gave a foul. The promoted to a level of incompetant, often happens in every the workplace and the EFL league 1 is his level of incompetance.
I accept the job is difficult, but some people really shouldnt be doing the job, they appear to buckle under the pressure of officiating in front of crowds.
You’re James Oldham and I claim my five pounds. Many thanks all - good nightWhy? What big decisions did he get wrong? The penalty? Big decisions are those that can affect the outcome, penalties, red cards etc... I guess you've never refereed a football match, and if you have you should be ashamed.
I gather that's where Danny Mills was?Fans were terrific…..apart from someone with terrible wind right at the back behind the goal.
Er you do realise he was s lot nearer to the action than you? What an odd comment to make. But off the top of my head I think he got them following wrong.
- Stevenage player should’ve been booked for pulling Emankhu shirt first half when he turned him on half way. He’s booked and he’s on a tight rope for the rest of the game. Same player was later booked for doing the same thing to the same player. If it’s a booking second time around it’s a booking the first time too.
- Booking Helik. Very odd decision.
- When Stevenage had a flurry of shots in the first half and very nearly scored, Currie was put in a headlock and the attacker wins the ball when it first comes in to the box. They score from that and that is a potentially match changing decision.
- Dembele incident. Didn’t think it was a pen, but why was he giving a FK to them?
- Kioso handball.
- Numerous times in the first half Harris was wrestled to the floor off the ball.

My thoughts.
Easty was warming up more than Cumming pre match so clearly an issue there pre game.
You abuse nurses and police you get a criminal record! You are trying to justify abuse of match officials as just "acceptable". It isn't and that's why you don't get the Mr Perfects on every game that you seem to demand, Have you ever refereed? Don't try an accept abuse of match officials or anyone as societal norm.I did not mention abuse, that I accept is unaccetable at any level. I simply question the competence of this individual to referee at League 1 level.
Whilst abuse in any workplace is unaccetable so is total incompetance. Unfortunately in sport incompetence leads to abuse both referrees, players and coaches. That ia an education problem and is much wider than simply football referreeing. That is simply one area it occurs but definitly not in isolation.
You site refs who give up, why not mention nurses, policemen, etc etc. That is a society issue and football referees are just one minor example.
Nurses and police are subject to physical abuse on a daily basis. Suggesting that fans questionning refs' decision making is in any way similar is, quite frankly, ridiculous. You abuse nurses and police you get a criminal record!
I was responding to why Police Officers and Nurses jack the job in. If you can't accept that verbal abuse and threats against a referee doesn't make them question their commitment then you're an idiot! How would you feel if I came to your place of work and told you that you were a c**t and didn't know what you were doing? Assuming you have a job, of couse.Nurses and police are subject to physical abuse on a daily basis. Suggesting that fans questionning ref's decision making is in any way similar is, quite frankly, ridiculous.
If you truly think every time police officers get verbally abused that the perpetrator gets a criminal record then you are incredibly, incredibly naïve.You abuse nurses and police you get a criminal record! I have several years of experience as a Police Officer thanks. I'd lock them all up - however, I assess every situation as it arises but you call me a c*nt and you're spending a night in the cells. You're the sort of idiot that's destroying society - the sort of idiot that says abuse is tolerable at a certain level. MoronIf you truly think every time police officers get verbally abused that the perpetrator gets a criminal record then you are incredibly, incredibly naïve.
I've always found refs to be a bit like parish councillors - getting an almost sexualised thrill from holding a position of low-level (and possibly even degrading) power.I was responding to why Police Officers and Nurses jack the job in. No - I'm sick and tired of society saying abuse in any form is acceptable or justifiable EVER You're doing it now. You're trying to tell me that I need to take a breath and accept it. Why should I? Why are socially depraved morons being tolerated? Jeez - why do people try and justify depraved behaviour? Anyway - COYY - Playoffs beckonTake a breath and stop being so confrontational. If indeed you are a Police Officer, then your communication skills leave a lot to be desired.
Doesn't happen in rugby - better class of spectator I guess. Abuse is NEVER acceptable. I suggest you take up refereeing and be Mr Perfect - see you in the 2030 World Cup finalI've always found refs to be a bit like parish councillors - getting an almost sexualised thrill from holding a position of low-level (and possibly even degrading) power.
Much like the parish councillor, you find that most refs are completely incompetent. The main problem however is that nobody wants to be a ref or a parish councillor, so you're ultimately left with the dregs of society who actually want to do these bloody jobs.
Abuse is unfortunate but understandable, given fans pay good money and spend a whole day attending a football match only for it to be ruined by a brain donor in the middle of the park, who may or may not decide that they want to be the main character for the day.
Better class of ref too!!Doesn't happen in rugby - better class of spectator I guess. Abuse is NEVER acceptable.
The players are still learning what AR wants, and AR is still learning what this squad is capable of. Both manager and squad hopefully learnt a lot today. We resisted an effective but limited Stevenage side in the first half and gained control in the second. Great use of the second half subs secured victory. The use of GOD up top and Sparky as 10 may well be the most effective use of both players but we have to play a 46 game season so it is unlikely we will see that until we can sign some more attacking options. Was a good day out at Stevenage today. Thought we rode the aerial bombardment out relatively well. Being able call on Long and Spencer from the bench is exceptional at this level. Kioso was my man of the match for the first hour, G O'D for the last 30.
I think Easty actually said Cumming had felt it towards the end of the MK game, and thst Easty might've come on in that game if we didn't have the momentum and weren't going for the win.In Easty's RadOx interview, he mentioned that JC had felt his injury in pre match warm up but would start the game. SE made the decision that he'd warm up hard as he thought it was very possible he'd end up playing.
You absolutely showcase my argument - so sadBetter class of ref too!!
Bit harsh, by the law of averages there are probably one or two police officers that aren't utter bastards, although I've yet to meet themI have several years of experience as a Police Officer thanks. I'd lock them all up
And yet it seems to be you doing the abusing this eveningI was responding to why Police Officers and Nurses jack the job in.
