Through choice, nothing to indicate pecking order (nor an imminent departure). At the start of pre-season Stan was given 7, but he asked for 17 as that was his preferred number.

Worrying news - none of the Preston players are #17 so that is available (in case it was a deal buster for wor Stan)

Of course he did. It's clearly intentional and designed exactly for that purpose - we're talking instant positive reactions to anything Preston post.

Look, Mills senior following and liking posts on PNEs social media page at the same time he stops doing the same on OUFCs page is as clear an indication of a parent planning/wanting/hoping their son is going to another club or team.

Christ, there must be enough grassroots, youth coaches on this forum to recognise it. Parent x who’s been loving everything on WhatsApp or Spond goes radio silent, all of a sudden to start following and liking some random posts from the Dog & Duck U12s. Next thing you know “they’ve been scouted and won’t be playing next season”.

I can't recall a photoshoot in the 14 years I was at the club in which every player attended. There were always a couple of absentees, usually for fairly innocuous reasons. Not saying that Stan's absence isn't related to an imminent move, but on the other hand not everything's a conspiracy theory

I'd also add f Preston don't meet that price by that time limit and then make a bid of that figure later in the window, the price will have gone up by £1m or whatever.

There’s not reason to get used to losing him or BdK. It might happen, but it’s not even close to a formality at this rate

Maybe because he hasn’t played since Leicester away last season, then he had the operation and now he hasn’t had a full pre season.
Not sure Championship clubs will take that risk.
Maybe if he puts in superb performances between now and Xmas he could be off in January

Whatever transpires, the one thing Stan Mills needs to do is have a word with his old man about social media.

Thank him if DM is providing advice etc but tell him to stop following another club, liking posts etc until a transfer is actually completed. It really isn't helpful for Stan, what if this transfer falls through, whilst I don't think it will happen here, it could easily cause a backlash against him.

Not a big thing imo, being blown out of proportion by obsessive fans who don’t make up most of the fanbase
