Current Player Thread Stanley Mills

He says he was also “quite firm” that being prevented from signing players meant Oxford would also not sell this summer, especially assets such as winger Stanley Mills. “Letting them go would make no sense,” Ramsey says.

This is what AR said in his interview on the Aaron Ramsey thread.
I don't think he'll tolerate Mills being sold. It could quite possibly lead to him walking away.

It has to depend on what offer is made. I see Danny Murphy comes from Norwich. If they’re interested and offer £5m Stan would no doubt be interested. I’m not sure if Norwich are interested or are covered in his position

Unless Danny Murphy’s off screen persona is a lot different than the miserable git he appears on tv, I don’t think I’d be busting a gut to bunk up in Norwich with him
 
Hi guys, preston fan here. Nixon is usually spot on with us guys so he’s probably fair and right saying there is a gap in valuation. However, it does seem strange that Danny Mills has followed us on Instagram, only other clubs he follows are those who he played for and of course, you guys. I had heard that Stanley has been in Preston for a few days, unsure if any of you can offer an update as to whether he has been in training?

Any other insight would be appreciated, thanks

Our Senior Management Team are disorganised chaos. Heck, we don't even know whether some of our coaching staff remain employed this season, let alone what's happening with one of our players!

It's safe to say that communication with supporters has been atrocious over the last few months so it'd be unsurprising if it's just as bad with other clubs. In a strange kind of way, the fact that they are so bad at it leads me to suspect that it's inadvertently helping to retain the player and it's not only our own circumstances that are driving up the price given their inefficiencies at communicating.

Negotiating with OUFC right now must be hell.

Not disputing what you say but it surely would be very strange for him to be hanging about in Preston for the last few days? Surely that is nonsense until a move is actually close, which by all accounts right now it isn’t.
His dad following PNE is interesting of course

It’s OK - we usually give our players away for approximately 30% of their value.

Saturdays team selection will be very interesting, if there is no announcement before Saturday, but there is a deal being negotiated, will Mills be in the squad?!

“On the bench / travelled with the squad but picked up a slight knock in training during the week” will do the job for scenarios such as this I imagine!

Apparently Mills is just really pushing for the move and hasn’t been at training for you etc. I know our itks aren’t popular right now but i’ve heard this off someone different. (Think you want more money that you were originally content for and want us to cough up some more. that bit has come off a different forum to all the other shite, which i do actually trust)

“Stanley Mills really wants to move to north end. With PNE upping the bid to £3m
and likely to stay at that price. Oxford were initially content with this, but have seem to have back tracked late last night, or early this morning. It seems a matter of time before he’s a Preston player, but you never know with football.”

Would not surprise me. His backup got injured in the first game of pre season, and will be out longer than most expected. Obviously, as we cannot replace him (or Stan if he goes) we cannot really afford to sell Stan at this point and go into the year without an established right winger. I would not be at all surprised if our valuation has jumped by a million quid due to this.
