Sorry, can't agree. Gary Rowett really, really should go to Preston.
A tried and trusted manager who has a track record of making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Yes, I know that some unkind people have suggested that he got two teams relegated last season, but not on his own.
He will focus on defence, make them harder to beat (although to be fair that's not a high bar), see wingers as a luxury.

And it would most definitely p**s on a certain family's chips. 🍟🚽

Not sure the Mills' will like that. When the going got tough, the Mills' get going and not in a good way afterall.

They won the FA cup in 1938 with Bill Shankley as a player. They were a top division club when Sir Tom Finney played on the wing for them in the 1950's. So at least get the history right! Your overall sentiment is correct though, they have been mid table mediocrity in The Championship for a very long time. Although to be fair that is a lot better than us.
The real issue is the manager is under pressure and like us they do no have the financial resources to compete as a top championship club. Not necessarily a move to further your career if you want to showcase attaking talent.

There was a time when Preston was a big side and we were FA Cup minnows. Hence the record crowd at the Manor.
I queued up for a ticket.
How times change.
 
Our record home crowd. 22750 at the Manor. I remember temporary stands built from scaffolding. Possibly be a bit harder to get a safety certificate today?

Haven't been top flight for over 60 years.

And more embarrassingly they were, by my reckoning, the only club to fail to sell out our away end on a Saturday in The Championship.

I think even Blackpool would have done...
 
Funniest thing about replacing Heckingbottom now with a pragmatist who doesn't want Stan in the side... he's now had his 25 minutes on the pitch for both of us. He ain't going out for game time in January unless it's here...

Dont disagree, but equally understand no promotion, no relegation gets exceedingly boring and boredom leads eventually to falling support.
I have friends and relations who live there and they have become manic depressives. In hindsight they would fit in great on here.

Amazing what desperation does though. And clubs who find themselves looking to get out of a mess don't tend to be overwhelmed with options. Would be darkly funny, not going to lie.

and, we were robbed! PNE 1st goal foul in the build up ,not seen/ given , 2nd PNE goal was blatantly offside .The offside law was introduced that season, the linesman didnt apply, or wasnt aux fait with the offside law. 62 years on officials still seem to favour who they perceive as the bigger team. Plus, officials, in most cases, (IMO) havent improved much in 62 years either.

back to this season, I really do hope we pass PNE, as in exchange places with in current, respective leagues, come the seasons end

should that happen a Gavin Whyte style windmill salute, aimed at Mills snr especially, as the clubs swap leagues, would be childishly appropriate

With the new income/salary protocol rules for League I wonder what, if any, relegation clause there is in Mill's contract.
To meet the new criteria I guess there needs to be a 30-50% reduction in salary?

Who cares?
He has stated that he was looking to make this move all summer. Anything he has to say would be either irrelevant or insincere. I don’t want to listen to him rubbing our noses in it but I must admit I will be shouting for their opponents every week almost as much as I do for whoever Scumdon are playing.

Never used to happen when a player moved on.

Now we sometimes see the use of all sorts of social media - all a bit of a show in my eyes to appease those who like looking for that type of thing, and to get clicks.

And even when they do post things, they don't necessarily stay there.
Will Lankshear for example has deleted all of the posts that he made about OUFC from his Instagram, other than the one showing him with end of season awards.

I feel like you can not care about us more than any other club *and* not be a c@nt when you leave. Its probably not even that binary; there's actually quite a lot options between the two. And yet they both made their choices.

But when he looks back on what will be an outstanding career ,he will say that at Oxford he was given the chance to show what he could do. His previous loan at WBA wasn’t a happy experience for him.He loved his time here and speak well of us

Disagree. He had a special bond with oxford, even if that was partly due to it being a productive period in his career
