He's already looking for an upgrade on a team that's lost its first three games in the Championship and is destined for relegation. He'll be looking for a team destined for promotion to the Championship.

I think the club did the right thing. There was no way he’d have given 100% to us once he had the massive club Preston sniffing. Get rid, save the money.
He had the chance of shining here, instead he opted for the only club that came in for him, god I hope they go down.

Like I keep saying, why Preston? You make all the noises about moving up for more money yet with none of the prestige.

Unless he has a Time Machine and goes back to 1890 or something when Preston was a town (let’s face it, it still is) and they won stuff against the Royal Engineers and Wanderers.

Or didn’t fancy the complexities of dealing with us at the moment. It’s taken Preston 3+ weeks (rumours started before that so hard to know for sure) to get this deal done and Stan has had to go on strike along the way with a lot of negative press on all sides. Some clubs probably don’t fancy engaging in that sort of thing and focused on quicker, easier deals for stronger characters.

You may well be right, I’m not challenging your point, but it’s been one fugly deal to get done.

Bring in a couple of long throw merchants, bring all of your team into the box for set pieces, look at 1-0 down as an opportunity, shut up shop if 1-0 up, or even 0-0 if it's a team above you (and it will be). Might scrape enough points to stay up, you never know.

Yes, I liked him a lot for us and many agree as he was our player of the year. He handled it twattily but people are allowed to change job and ‘hating’ him seems pretty fragile behaviour. Would be hilarious if they went down though.

I agree. And I am surprised there wasn’t more interest considering the guff that gets bought in football. I just think other suitors that might include the sides that went up (for example) would’ve wanted their squads sorted well before this, and may have been put off by all the hoops to jump through. Plus I’d like to think no club forces a player not to play, nor would they want one that does that, but there he is at Preston.
