Stand Names @ The Triangle

I googled 'The Triangle' to see if there were any references to real places and the main result was a leisure centre in Burgess Hill. So if the club agree to use 'The Triangle' as a non-sponsored title, that should knock Burgess Hill off the top of the Google results!

The Arthur Turner Stand. Arthur was persuaded to join Headington United in 1958, a little while after taking Birmingham City to the FA Cup Final in 1956. The rest is history as they say. His record speaks for itself. Taking a nondescript average side to Southern League champions, Southern League Cup winners and entry to the Football League in '62. Division Four, Division Three...and Division Two ( Championship ), together with reaching the last eight of the FA Cup in '64. In the context of things his record is probably matchless. That is how I see it, anyway. Majority will not remember him but it is good to know United's history.......After all, who remembers Herbert Chapman at Arsenal?.............................I will get my coat.

Arthur Turner never won the Southern League Cup

Personally, I can't help thinking the club has missed a trick by not incorporating a dedicated museum space, with the exit leading into the club shop.
Am very disappointed if they aren't. Missed opportunity.

Shirely it will be named after a sponsor?
It will, otherwise we won't be able to afford it. It will still have its own name, though. I suspect it will be the "SPONSOR NAME Community Stadium".

I really have come round to it just remaining "The Triangle". We've been calling it that for a few years now anyway, and it also has a historic connection to our three-sided breeze block (despite it being a horrible place, we have had a very successful period there, after the first few years).

Sorry if it's already been covered elsewhere, but now things have been virtually rubber-stamped I've allowed myself to look more closely at the plans. I've noticed that the away section looks quite large, relative to the total stadium capacity. Do we know if it's possible to open sections up to home or away fans, depending on demand? It would be a shame to have an area that was impossible to allocate according to demand, meaning that, rather than have more home fans, we would simply see more empty away seats for the smaller visiting teams.

Can anyone shed any light?

Sure I read that, due to the design of the stands , the away end allocation will be flexible

Trinity Stadium.

Has a triangle relevance to it 😜.

(past/present/future)

Briggs and Shotton stand, the strength needed for next part of our journey. And the Larry Ellison Investment Stadium got to be worth a few million a year or the Oxford University Stadium all of them to chip in should be worth a few bob, or simply The Thoir Stadium if he continues his amazing support

Yeah it's designed to be configurable depending on the size of the away following. The corner would be the default section since that's where the accessibility area is. This image you have doesn't show it but there are partitions that splits the away concourse into three smaller sections to change the size of the segregation, similar to what's in the north stand at the moment.

I’d be happy with “The Triangle”, for those exact reasons.
Maybe name some bars/clubs -
Club 86
Manor Lounge
Britannia Bar/Club
The Slope

I won’t get too hung up on any naming decisions - it’ll be ours, that’s what really matters.

Club 89 and Manor Lounge are quite self explanatory, and presumably The Slope refers to the Manor's pitch, but why the Britannia?

Opportunity to screw Ka$$am for £500,000 a year, combine it with a contribution from FCUK and we could benefit from a stadium called "FCUK Kassam" 😁

That's excellent. I very much hoped that would be the case, but you never know.

The thing is.............. we, the ever present supporters, get to call it what we like.

We`ll call it the Triangle because............. we can,

Stands will be what "sticks"........ North, South, East.............. and a novel "West". :)

We’ll be like on of those tribes that only has numbers up to a certain value. “How may stands does the new Oxford stadium have?” “Many. Count them: 1, 2, 3, many”.
