Will be having none of that shite if that's what we go for. Proper cask pumps with local real ale or I'm not going.

Would be cool if the club could sell reusable plastic OUFC pint glasses or something to push the environmentally friendly theme.
I don't think cask pumps would be practical for the concourses due to only getting used around 25 times a season and so can't just leave a barrel half used for two weeks. Perhaps if there is a supporters' bar, but even there I think we are unlikely to get much weekday usage. (Haven't looked at the plans). I went to a POF event at AFC Wimbledon's new ground and they have a supporters bar, but their ground is in a location where people can walk off the street. I doubt fans will be getting the bus or train up to the Triangle other than matchdays.

I'd like to see these exact images as statues:

Along with the big brass OX statue currently at The Kassam, that's one statue outside each stand. Jim outside the main stand holding the scarf above his head, Joey and Mickey outside the side stands, and the OX outside the stand at the other end.

OR, have them all on a big plinth outside the main stand, Jim Smith stood holding the OUFC scarf above his head, with Joey and Mickey either side of him, and the brass ox in front of them.

💛
I've always felt that we should do something for Mickey Lewis at the training ground, name the training ground/building after him, he did a hell of a lot for young people in and around Oxfordshire.

Buying food at around 5 mins in - card loaded up for £20.

Believe Brentford lower drink prices before the games to encourage people to turn up earlier?

Cask ale is a romantic idea but as @MarkG says it has a short shelf life. It'll turn into vinegar if not drank within a few days.

They used to do bag boxes of ale (Prospect I think) on the counter at the Kassam, not sure when those disappeared.

That Brentford thing's interesting, I hope they can do something unique at the stadium with food and drink, activities for the kiddies etc. to make it more of a destination.

There has got to be one of a Mad Dog tackle....

True but you'd think we'd just get a fresh cask in for each match day, I'm sure we'd pull enough pints

Interesting bit of info - distance ( in km) for Good Pub Guide listed closest pubs to Championship Stadiums this season. OUFC are bottom of the table, with The Masons Arms in Headington Quarry- ( incidently The Masons landlord is an OUFC ST holder)

I really, really hope those planning the infrastucture of The Stadium ensure there are decent beers/ ciders etc factored in to the Stadium design- overpriced, mass produced, chemically infused swill is not for everyone, nor are Sports bars ( which is what the plans refer too )

I would hope so as well but at least the City Centre is only a short public transport ride away for the new stadium.

Considering the built up area The Hawthorns is in - that's awful for WBA.

Though perhaps not surprising when you consider the local demographic. In fact, I've never* seen such a stark contrast between the inside and outside of a football ground as at WBA last season. Felt like none of the people who lived locally were inside, and none of the people inside lived in the vicinity.

*obviously Luton.

I think that thd club have to look at getting cask beer somewhere in.the stadium.
The whole point, I believed was to get people in a lot earlier spending money.
The venue is touted as a 365 days a year venue
I know a lot of people who will go to local pubs if there is no cask beer, which defeats the object.

Birmingham City also

I imagine real/craft ale types will be served by pop-up bars in the communal spaces outside the stadium? Tap Social and Little Ox are both pretty close so hope it wouldn't be too hard for them to run something.

I'm sure the food/drink inside will be standard fare overall, but I hope there is space to allow pop-ups for artisan stuff to appear as well - Oxford City seem to do a great job with their catering, so hopefully something we can do as well, even if most people will just settle for a rollover hotdog.

I've not been to the King power, but a very similar feel at Filbert street many years ago.

Yes agree.
There has been a lot of talk about local food and drink. Hopefully there will be local food options and local ales supporting local breweries
There is no reason why there shouidnt be plenty of beer sold to allow breweries/ the club to make money.

Couln't they pass it onto the hotel after a match day?
