Kassam Stadium Stadium Compliance

Hope the skip on the pitch perimeter can be removed soon. Although saying that, the stadium appears to demotivate the championship Billy Big B*****s from the opposition that visit so perhaps we should keep it a little rough round the edges!

It's yellow and blue through and through, deserves to watch some good football.

Surely the old dugouts would have obscured the view any way?
not in the way the current ones do. The walls look the same, the old canopy was a small curved perspex job that didn't take up the whole area, the new roof is more substantial and looks to be built on a metal frame on top of the walls,

you can just about see people sat alongside them in the background of the pic of Sparky scoring.

New seats in them too. For the Norwich game there were just black stadium seats.

That’s a very valuable skip, I’ll have you know. It permanently has five police officers guarding it 24/7.
It will be replaced in January by a storage container .😉

I hope its not being charged as Grundon is getting advertising.

To be fair they have sponsored us loads over the years, when no one else wanted to, plus it may well be a stadium thing so nothing to do with the club.

Looking forward to the light shows when the nights draw in. Particularly at full time after a hard won victory.

Big spotlight on Des, rose between his teeth. Waltzing round the pitch with the man of the match. The tannoy belting out Strauss’ Blue Danube.

Marvellous.

That has to happen.

My understanding is that all season ticket holders in the immediate vicinity of the dug outs had been spoken to. I guess that some many have not realised the impact until arriving though.
I sit in the row immediately behind the away dug out (E 99 & 100) and didn't see anything in my email (I may have missed it if it was part of the match preview email).

To be fair my view wasn't impacted at all and my lad (who wasn't there on Saturday) is now tall enough that I can't see it impacting him either... the guy to my left had his six year old with him and I don't think he could see unless sitting on his dad's lap. They'd bought season tickets over the summer for first time so could be a bit of a challenge.
I think they left shortly after half time, but remembering taking my son when he was that age, having to leave early wouldn't be that unusual.

I was sat in the South Stand on Saturday so didn't notice the South Stand floodlights but just saw them the AAA video.

Is this the upgraded lights shown here or will they fill the gaps in?

The gaps are unlikely to matter, the new ones are LED and much brighter/greater coverage. They are all pointing in slightly different directions to cover different parts of the pitch.

Seems only the North Stand lights have been upgraded?

Only the South stand have as they were on in the second half on Saturday. You could tell they were alot brighter hence why there is now less of them on the roof.

Are they good seats? I've often wondered if you can hear what is going on instructions wise or managers losing their minds with the ref clearly down there

Yeah, really good Matt. Nobody in front of you, but a bit of elevation (five rows back) and pretty much on halfway line. You can't hear the opposition managers / coaching staff unless they're really shouting, but their body language is pretty obvious! :O
You do get very tempted to 'interact' with fourth official and/or opposition coaches.... not that I've ever done that obviously! 😇

I used to sit with a friend occasionally who has a seat behind the home dugout, used to get distracted by Robbos antics, and subs getting up to warm up every so often, thought I'd end up missing a goal but it never happened 🤣🤣🤣

We sit behind the home bench and for me it adds an extra layer of interest. Seeing Des' reactions to stuff, the conversations he has. I started sitting there after the 5-0 to Bolton last season when I started to give him advice. I'm not saying that I am totally responsible for the improvement in Oxford Utd but it's just interesting that it happened at the same time.

Like I say, I'm not saying I am completely the reason why Oxford are now competitive in the Championship. I'm just saying it's interesting.

Screenshot_20241022_225719_Sky Sports_resized.jpgThought the pitch perimeter looked really mossy and slippy after all the rain of recent weeks, needs a good jet wash.

A ball boy slipped over on Saturday, if a players runs onto the perimeter in boots it'll be like an ice rink and very dangerous.
