Well, to add injury to the relegation insult, I got back to Spring Lane, usually a decent parking spot, to find two side panels of my car had been keyed: and I don’t think I was alone in this. Anyone else had this, any info about what happened.

I do get that it might be annoying to have match day parking on one’s doorstep but criminal damage not the answer …

I walk down spring lane every match as always but saw nothing unusual. I always park in Ledgers Close a couple of minutes further away and always decent there. I wouldn't be very surprised if it wasn't a resident fed up with people parking down there but like you agree it doesn't justify criminal damage

Yep, happened to me too. I was just about to start a thread asking the same thing. We were parked on Sandy Lane immediately opposite Spring Lane.

It's just kids isn't it. Let's me honest. Little shits with nothing better to do.

I park on Spring Lane, near the bottom, and in the lay by if there's space. I parked there yesterday, in the lay by, with no incident.

But my mate was a bit late and had to park right at the top of Spring Lane, near Sandy Lane West, and when he got back to his car it had been keyed, and quite severely too. He knocked on several doors, to see if anyone had Ring Doorbells, or had seen anything, but had no luck.

Sounds as if it was at the top of Spring Lane where the problems were? Ironically, as I was driving home I thought it was a bit draughty, and realised I'd left my front passenger side window open all afternoon! Nothing had been taken from the car, so I think it is malicious little twats, rather than opportunist thieves, not anyone or anything else responsible.

Really s**t to hear this happening to people. About 6 years ago I had my car rear side window smashed when parked on Grenoble Rd for an evening game. Nothing was left on show, so the cretins achieved absolutely nothing.

I f-ing can't wait for this new stadium, a 4.5mile cycle ride for me to the triangle and no longer have to stress about parking anymore 🙏

Gosh: I know the car next to me was done in Spring Lane too, same damage as that, and mine. I often park in Sandy Lane, which I’d thought was pretty safe! Now awaiting a quote for repairs..🙄

Yes that’s exactly where I was and I imagine I was parked next to your mate.

I am Colin’s mate. Longstanding Oxford supporter of 60 years. I read the forum regularly, but have not wanted to register until now.
As Colin has outlined, I suffered similar vandalism to my car on Saturday and feel very upset and pretty sick about it to be honest. In my case thousands of pounds worth or damage, which I now have to get fixed. It’s not just the huge expenses and the time and effort required to get it fixed, it’s the downright nastiness of such a cowardly act from someone who doesn’t know me and never will. I could never do something like that to anyone, let alone somebody I have never met and don’t even know. It really is very sick. What is wrong with people who do things like this?
What did they achieve?
Are they feeling happy and content today with what they have deliberately chosen to do?
I am also very cross, and I am not taking this lying down.
I have reported it to the police.
I have also called in to Radio Oxford and they are going to investigate further.
If, as it seems there are several people like us who suffered similar vandalism, the cost of this criminal act potentially runs in to tens of thousands!
It really is shameful and I hope the police take it seriously.
Unlike the other poster I DO NOT think this was kids. The circumstantial evidence points to it being a resident, and I think the police need to be knocking on doors. If we can create some sort or joint effort then maybe they will? Please direct message me if you wish. As I say I am planning to go further with this, whoever did this needs to arrested, and maybe just maybe with a joint effort and some publicity on radio Oxford we may get somewhere.

To all victims. Take the wife with you and let het sit in the car with her knitting during the game.
I'd castrate the bastard if I caught one.

I don't really know the area but on google street view Sandy Lane West doesn't look like they are going to have people annoyed about someone parking in "their space" outside the front door as there are hardly any cars parked on the road to start with. Spring Lane seems a bit narrower with more houses facing onto the street but it looks like you can park without using the pavement and still room for traffic to pass.

Is it a route away fans use to get to the ground?

Not that either of those are any excuse for criminal damage.

Street view does seem to be chasing down a white van reversing when viewed one way, followed by a deliveroo rider, and a parking officer on an e-scooter.
