appears to be helping and if it gets us results it’s a good thing ?

He is quite well known in that area, so it’s impressive that he works with us.

He had an interesting slot on Talksport on Sunday nights ‘On the sporting couch’ where he spoke to various sports people about mental stresses etc. Particularly enjoyed the one he had with Ian Holloway.

interesting that he mentions 4 or 5 players that were a concern. wonder who they were and what the issues were? seems a solid group now though

@AbbeyOx in this world of "exposure" via social media etc it ,nice that the folk with difficulties have been helped/guided, and in turn that has made the group better ,without any finger pointing or apparent issues and remained anonymous. Shrewd move by the management.
It does sound like a good move.
The professionalism of the club and the care that they show the players cang help but get noticed by PL clubs, meaning that when it comes to loans, we must be in a better position ( which is good news whether we are in the Championship or L1)

totally agree but was surprised to read there may have been discipline issues as hadn’t seen any signs of it.
it’s good to have someone that can work with the players and make them a tighter unit, which we certainly appear to have now.
must be huge pressures on some especially the younger ones so anything that benefits them and the club is a positive

I hadn't realised he was the same person as the commentator until this was highlighted in the Newcastle match, used to like his work with Football Italia. Talented guy.

This is yet another example of how the club is looking to invest in our players as people as well as footballers.

We often see young players come through who have natural ability but need to strengthen up a bit in the gym. It's no different than with mental health and the work behind the scenes helps develop resilience in these players. Along with having some excellent coaches and Championship level training facilities, this work is undoubtedly paying off with the development of our players. Add in the way everyone works for each other and we have something very special running through the club.

All very impressive and the performances have backed it up well done Karl and Tiger for hiring this man. Just need the stadium and we could take off!

Excellent interview with KR on the Just About Coping podcast from MHFA England. Very open and engaging.

Absolutely brilliant. Should be listened to carefully by EVERYONE, including those who may have shouted abuse at the radio interview, post- defeat, when KR is on (that includes me, unfortunately). What an intelligent, thoughtful man. A lot of good sense about the mental health problems that footballers can suffer (and suppress). Listen in, and tell your friends to.
