 Southampton spying on Middlesbrough

A hefty ban for Eckert is surely inevitable, anything less would show the FA as toothless.

He's been found responsible, his behaviour led to a far wider set of impacts on junior staff and he acted with dishonesty (along with Southampton) when caught, thereby giving up any possibility of mitigation.

It's got to be a ban from working in England for a couple of years, minimum.

I expect as he come out admitted to it and apologised of sorts it will be reduced

£4.5m release clauses? £2m release clauses? No release clauses?

None of it really matters if clubs don't trigger it or if BDK doesn't want to leave.

What we do know is that 2 weeks after the world heard if the embargo and nothing has changed. The only player who has not been involved with any training at all is Lino Ferdinan. So maybe we can hold on to this squad and make a good go of it.
Wrong thread scotch

and some compensation for each of the targeted clubs,

Hope its a further points deduction for them and a coaching ban for the instigator who "didn`t know cheating wasn`t allowed".

That excuse is one of the most blatant porkies that's been told in recent years (in football at least).

If you genuinely thought that watching opponents' training sessions was legal.......why exactly did you send your YTS boy to watch Ipswich disguised in full Eastleigh FC gear?

It should be at least a year's ban from managing in England. Partly for cheating in the first place, but also for being such a t**t and lying and whining about it afterwards.

I wouldn’t call there fans weapons
The supporters have done what all supporters would do and defend their club when it was getting pelters from all sides

I would, plenty blamed it all the intern, or suggested he should take all the blame nevermind his personal career, and Middlesbrough even after Southampton finally admitted it. Those pushing the Middlesbrough/EFL conspiracy theory were the worst of all.

But if it was us
our fans would do the same when its underfire you defend it no matter what even if you know the club was in the wrong

When the evidence is there, admitted by Southampton and they carry on especially with the conspiracy theory crap, and claim they've been hard done by through getting chucked out; then they are weapons. There is defending when the outcome isn't known and then there is being delusional when it is.

And plenty defended the manager doing this after as well as they watched training in other countries and he didn't know the rules, except he was working in English football just after the rules were introduced so knew them.

On what legal basis? Show your workings 😏
I don't know the answer but currently my understanding is:

Southampton got 200K fine
So EFL gain that 200K
They got 1.8M for 4th place
All the other teams are victims
They've received nothing

So, if you cheat you win, if you're the governing body you win, if you're the victim you lose.

Who thinks this is right and fair cuz I don't.

Morally I don’t disagree but legally there is no case here especially as we won the game and so to prove any damages are due would be nigh on impossible.

We might have won it 3-1 if they hadn't spied on us

The only material benefit we should have got from this would have been if they had been found to be doing it on a wider, more systematic basis and demoted.

We would then have been repreived - imagine what a summer we'd have been having now!

Going to win the league this season as they are walking round with 'a chip on their shoulder' which I assume means they are still unhappy that they got caught cheating.

They really are a horrible little club.

If there's a chip on a shoulder that's up for grabs in the Championship next season, Chris Wilder will be all over that. After he's finished off the last bowl of pasta.
