I feel sorry for Southampton fans but I also feel sorry Middlesbrough and their fans who now have just 3 days to prepare for the final.

Thinking about it, we've been joking on here about them being relegated as punishment, while it was thought to be a one-off....

....but if it does come to light that there are more and more cases of it, then at some point it becomes bigger than 3pts per game or whatever, and an actual demotion may become a real potential outcome.

Saying that, it also depends on whether there is the appetite and evidence to go too far further into it, but I'm not sure it can be ruled out anymore?

Why? They've gone from playing the form side from the second half of the season to a side that stuttered almost as badly as they did, have likely (mentally if not physically) been on the beach for the past week and have suddenly got just three days to prepare for the biggest game of the season.

Hull's chances of winning just went up by an order of magnitude!

it was definitely more than three, unless you're telling me their scouts are so bad they didn't win any of the three games they've admitted to but still got to the FA Cup semis and went 17 unbeaten? Yeah...

It unarguably shows that spying on a clubs training before you play them isn’t some sort of unstoppable cheat code.

There was talk of other clubs going back and checking security footage, so it might be that we've just found something doing that?

In addition to Boro, they’ve admitted to spying on us (they lost) and Ipswich (they drew), i.e teams that were relegated and promoted automatically respectively. How convenient! Two matches that ultimately did not positively impact upon their final League position. However, did they also spy on teams that they won against and thus contribute to their spectacular rise up the table? Conspiratorial, I know, but hey, it’s interesting.

Perfect justice. It will take a long time for Southampton to shake off the shame of this. What a load of idiots managing the team and surely there will be a massive clear out - the manager knew about and was complicit with the spying.
