Media Sky Sports +

It's not a box with Sky Stream, it's a puck, but there were reasons why we wanted the two to be separate.

I don't think Sky Stream works that way, anyhow?
I meant a Stream box, I know of people who take it away on holidays and also have another box at their other house but on one account.

I think if you take it on holiday, you can only watch stuff that you've already added to your playlist, rather than watching live TV? I could be wrong though.

We were in a similar situation in our house in Kent. We'd had Sky for years and the bastards just tweak it up, bit by bit, until one day you realise you're paying a ridiculous amount.

So when we bought the place in Oxfordshire, I looked into Sky Stream. It has no dish or cables, is genuinely easy to instal yourself, but is only as good as your wi-fi. I got it for £57 a month for two TVs, with Sky Sports, Netflix, Super HD, and advert forwarding all included.

Once I was happy with it, I rang them about the house in Kent and got it there, to replace the existing Sky, and got a saving of well over £40 per month for everything above on 3 TVs, compared to the 2 TVs we had it on before.

I realise that I'm now revealing that I'm in a very select group of people who own a home in Kent and also in Oxfordshire. I only know of one other person who's in the same position!!!
Same with us - our Sky bill had crept up to £71 a month. Last year I got us put on Sky Ultimate (=Sky Signature + Netflix free for the first 4 months) for £56 per month for 18 months (+ a £20 admin fee). I was told we could ring up the day before the free Netflix period ended to cancel it without cost if I didn't want to keep it.

4 months later, I rang up the day before the free Netflix expiry date to cancel, expecting there would be no charge. Later I discovered they had charged me an extra £3 or so. When I phoned to complain, they first said that I had needed to give 28 days notice and then claimed there was a system issue at Sky and offered me £10 goodwill/compensation. I thought that was insufficient so I asked for a month's credit of £56. They said they couldn't do that but would either increase the goodwill to £30 or I could start a new 18 month contract for £41 per month which is what I did. So they may have have got me for an extra 4 months but I have saved £15 x 18 = £270 rather than them offering me £56 credit!!

Dealing with Sky always make my head spin.

P.S. I don't have a house in either Oxfordshire or Kent but I do support OUFC and Kent CCC (thanks to being taken to an Ian Balding (Clare's Dad) charity cricket match involving Kent in Oxfordshire - must have been in 1972 or thereabouts).

I meant honest holiday in the UK, connected to wifi and it will work as if you’re at home

That's interesting, I might try it if we stay away somewhere in the UK, although I suppose they'd need to have decent wi-fi. We wouldn't have been able to do this with our two places though, as often I stay at the Oxfordshire place when OUFC are at home, while my Mrs stays in Kent.

I have 2 pucks 😀

Goals galore in the Notts Grimsby match tonight.
There certainly is value for money in this new Sky Sports+

Anyone know if Sky Sports News show goals “as they go on” for games on Sky Sports +?

Was just about to post. Hopped on Sky Sports and the matches seem to all be live.
Yeah, rather than pick one game to watch, was going to watch SSN if m they showed all the goals.

Barrow v Swindon for me if they don’t, come on Barrow!

If you think we have a bad deal for games being moved then it could be worse if we were still in the national league, going to watch Aldershot and the game has been moved to 5.30pm for TV as part of the new deal with DAZN (who have taken over the rights from TNT/BT), only thing is DAZN haven’t actually set the channel up to show it yet so it will be on national league tv same as all the 3pm games in the national league are today. DAZN are going to give it enhanced coverage (so multiple cameras) but the game is essentially being used as trial, they are kicking off during an England game for that. Seems a bit of a waste of time moving it.

Barrow 1-0 up Vs Swindon. Either genius by Ged Garner or a mishit cross.

Barrow keeper sent off in the 40th minute or so for deliberate handball when he was nearer the half way line than the penalty area. Barrow had no keeper on the bench so Ronnie Feely, a defender, has gone in goal. In the following 12 minutes, Swindon did not test the keeper once.

Swindon have had 2 go off injured in the 1st half. Not a high quality game to say the least.

Lovely view of the Southern Fells in the background with the clearest Back Combe standing out.

Deserved win for Chris Wilder and Sheffield United tonight.

Anyone else getting an error but other matches loading fine?
