Sky Sports Lose La Liga TV Rights

Wow this is huge, Sky were expected to retain the rights.

But, yours means yet another channel for fans to subscribe too and what else will the channel show?

Not that fussed in all honesty. La Liga is pretty miserable to watch outside of the top few clubs. Can't see many people paying more money to watch it on another channel that I suppose won't be in HD.

Just read, two other EPL packages didn't sell, so they might go for them too.

You would have thought they would’ve paid the going rate to keep it, was also a surprised when they lost the coverage of champions League games.

Meh, can't imagine they'll be too bothered - La Liga is currently on a down swing compared to the Premier League.

Whilst the Premier League has become more competitive in the past few years, La Liga has gone the other way to the extent that the only games worth watching are between the top three (and it's unclear how long Simeone will be able to keep Atletico competitive as they keep selling, and their core are getting old).

The Prem this season has been mostly awful. The bottom 10 sides are not good, and I certainly wouldn't pay to watch them.
The team in 6th haven't won away this year. The team in 7th went around 2months without a win but didn't plummet down the table.
