He’ll probably start on Friday!

He could be one that’s on his way out, as he’ll have a resale value.

Just not in the team.
This is something that I have found strange with Rowett this season.

Admittedly not many have put there hands up and made themselves 'undroppable', however I feel like there has been a few instances, Dembele as a prime example, Prelec too, when a player has done OK maybe a 6.5 to 7.5 out of 10 for a few games and seems to be building up a head of steam, then they are dropped and seem to be persona non grata for a few weeks and the cycle repeats.

I guess Rowett would argue the flip side is that no-one has grabbed their opportunity with both hands, however I think he just needs to decide on his best team and stick with them for a few weeks, obviously injuries etc will have a part to play

Dembele wouldn’t be missed if we didn’t see him again.

He’s a prime example of this squad, who in the main have fleeting moments but lack any sort of consistency at the level.

Dembele is destined for a career in leagues 1 and 2 where his inability to really influence games regularly will be more easily forgiven.

Thanks, but no thanks.

We have too many forwards in the squad and desperately need to move some out in January - given the lack of consistency from any of them. Dembele would certainly be towards the top of that list.
Equally I wonder if Rowett is just rotating who misses out, since he simply can’t have them all in the squad

But Dembele was on a decentish run of form before he was suddenly not even able to make the bench is my point - and it’s not like the team has done well without him.

Rowett seems to go hot and cold on players seemingly at random, regardless of how well they’ve actually done on the pitch. It’s odd.

Goodrham is a prime example of this. Couldn’t get in a matchday squad, then was suddenly not just on the bench but starting. Dembele was starting and doing ok now can’t even get on the bench. Mills seemed to work his way back into some form and then was suddenly unable to get in the side.

We've notoriously fallen down playing the same side and atm it's more or less impossible as much as it makes sense that it wd lead to consistency. Now it's picking a side based on several factors.

You feel he's not in the matchday squad for the same reason Tyler wasn't - with Krastev, he's seen as one of three options on the left.

I'm hoping that, with this formation, one of them (most likely Krastev) will start vying with Harris as a 10, which should mean they all get in the matchday squad.

This close to the window you do start to wonder if a club has made a solid inquiry, or a player has asked to move on, but I still think he has the ability to unlock a tight defence and has been looking a lot better this season.

He wins us loads of fouls in key areas (although less useful with no Brannagan, I guess). And until recently (lack of recent minutes counts against him now) he was in the top 10 for successful dribbles in the division. (I guess success includes times the opposition has to foul you.) I honestly think he's been one of our better attacking players this season, though I freely admit that not saying a lot.

After last seasons home QPR game, thought he was very lucky to still be here this.
Hasn’t done anything yet to prove to me, I was wrong.

Whether or not another club has made a solid enquiry, there's still five weeks (ish) until the window opens and we should be using any player we can to improve our current position. If that means risking an injury to someone and a sale falling through, so be it. I would rather we field our strongest squad possible to pick up as many points as we can until we can bring in reinforcements

Dembele is one of those players who improves in the mind of fans when he’s not playing.

Impact player at best, last15 minutes of a match against a tiring defence fair enough. Simply hasn’t got the discipline and strength to be in the starting XI, too much of a gamble in my view.

I’d love it if he proved me wrong, but for me he’s been incredibly disappointing for what was at the time our record signing.

I think that it's simply the fact that none of the wide men have been remotely consistent.
Dembele looks good at times ( gives the ball away too much for me).
I would think that Shemmy and Mills have the most assists/ goals this season of the wide men ( now Krastev has scored)
Not sure how much Dembelee has created this season ? Not a lot from memory.

They do, but it’s still not a big number - 3 for Shemmy (2g, 1a) and two for Mills (1g, 1a).

Tyler is level with Mills (although his goal came in the cup).

Dembele has no goals or assists... as yet.

Without Dembele we’d now be a League 1 club. Scored probably two of the most crucial goals in our recent history. Those two 1-0’s against Watford and Sheffield United towards the end of last season were huge moments. Hasn’t properly lived up to the player he can be but I like him and he’s one who can keep the ball and has that bit of trickery. Krastev, Dembele and, on his day, Mills are the only three players we have who are getting you off your seat.
