He has played 70 games in the Championship and 6 in the PL.
Last season 6 goals in 33 games in the Championship.
1 games for Birmingham this season and I wouldn't be surprised if he started on Saturday.

Attacking wise we are stacked what a signing this could turn out to be could also be the difference in staying up and going down fair play to the board for getting this done.

Genuine wow signing.

Comments from Blues fans on twitter suggesting he’s not one to track back / do much work off the ball, and thrives more as a winger in a team that dominates possession and territory. If true, that’s a little worrying, given the importance of high energy off the ball in our system. But equally, even if it is, horses for courses - we needed a lightening attacking threat of a winger, and we’ve got that now (and how!).

Welcome to the U's!

Not the best scoring record, but if he's more of a winger then hopefully he can create lots of chances.

Slightly don't care if that is the case, given that we are doing alright defensively and where we need the energy and sparkle is up top. But equally, trust Des and Ed to get the best out of him.

Seems an incredibly exciting signing who will go straight into the first XI and likely flourish under Des.

Only notes of caution for me are:

1) £1-2m is a lot to pay for someone who is 28 soon and will likely have little sell-on value

2) Some Birmingham fans don’t seem convinced (even before he was confirmed as leaving):

"Lightning", as in English Electric Lightning.......and it was fast.

I would expect that many supporters ( including Oxford ones) would have said that about Murphy until a few months ago!

My Grandson is a Brummie ST Holder, said on his day he is exciting to watch but can also be very frustrating at times.
Maybe a change of club can suite his way of playing under Des.

Whilst we shouldn't outright ignore what the Birmingham fans are saying, he was only there for a season. And it's a season which saw Eustace being sacked after a decent run, the horror show of Rooney's spell, and a total of 6 managers used over the course of the season. Could his inconsistency (at least in part) stem from Birmingham City being a complete and utter car crash last season?

He’s played in the Championship three times before.

Twice he was relegated, and once he was promoted! (although he only made 13 appearances that season)

Here’s hoping he’ll experience some nice mid-table comfort this season!

My bluenose friend says "Inconsistent. Can be so skillful but then just doesn't track back. Half our conceded goals in the last 2 months of the season we're because of him. Winger, not really a striker but can go there if needed".

However, I'll judge him solely from his performances for the Yellows, so welcome to the club, and show us what you're worth!

I asked my Bournemouth supporting mate (goes to all their games, home and away) if he's any good and he replied 'every now and again'. Looking forward to see what Des can do with him.
