National News Sir Keir Starmer

Why are you struggling with the fact she did the right thing and resigned? I think we know. 😁

The whole situation just feels petty and OTT, imho.

However, having now resigned with the best of intentions by removing a distraction to government, it appears to have instead raised the issue regarding the judgement of KS in appointing her, given that he was aware of the circumstances.

I can’t remember if this is the thread for stupid Daily Telegraph headlines but I have found a beautyView attachment 23794
Now if my memory from Catholic Sunday school serves I pretty much think the whole story was him getting cancelled with a massive great crucifixtion at the end. You don’t get more cancelled than that. Telegraph could do with less outrage and probably more brushing up on the finer points of theology.

Can’t see what the problem is, because he promptly “uncancelled” himself anyway.

If turning water into wine, walking on water etc followed up by being crucified then returning to life doesn’t rid you of the nepo baby tag then you are setting a high bar that I don’t think Brooklyn Beckham is going to be able to reach.
Peter Foley walked on water, and he didn't do it because his dad opened doors for him.

Barring the small matter of "not possible for most", there was an interesting bit about Oxford that should give the likes of Middleton et al something to get really chewed up about. :)

"In Oxford, the city council hopes the ambitious new targets will lead to the extra housing that councillors say the area needs.

The planned changes would see Oxford having to build an additional 24,000 homes.

Louise Upton, the local cabinet member for planning, said the council could accommodate 10,000 of those, and that it hoped the new rules would make it more likely that surrounding councils would take on the other 14,000 and allow the city to expand.

“When you are a tightly constrained city like ours is, actually bursting at the seams, you need your surrounding districts to collaborate with you to get the housing that you need,” she said."

1,000,000 new people per year.

24,000 is nothing compared to what will be needed down the line!
