National News Sir Keir Starmer

Shame.

Tax the a**e out of them then refuse to even give a little nudge in support.

The government is “not going to tell people where to buy their stuff”.

A little nod in the direction of Buy British wouldn’t go amiss though.

Does this also mean they are withdrawing the road map to force us to buy electric cars then? Assuming of course that they really don’t want to tell us what to do, and allow us freedom of choice?

Great headline...................

Reality......

Treble the size of Cabinet Office since 2016 or so............. then reduce it by a third by 2028

There will still be DOUBLE the number of pen pushers from 2016. 🤷‍♂️

Two interesting stories today firstly the good news of the positive GDP figures https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj0zz357532o although i only really care about GDP per capita.

And secondly months after Farage was mocked (see this video from LBC) for his accusationas around barber shops that was blatantly obvious BTW. The police and the authorities finally start doing something https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3677xzk56no .
And who did they find in the first one two Kurdish asylum seekers. I am shocked i truely am!!!

Er, who mocked them and who hasn't said the same?

They only raided 265 venues - that's barely a town let alone a City........... :ROFLMAO:

Thing is we know it, they know it in fact everyone knows what they are but landlords still rent to them, councils still take the rates etc and a blind eye is turned in the name of "the local economy".

Meanwhile parliament being recalled to sort out British Steel - compulsory purchase from the Chinese and nationalise it then dig the coking coal from Cumbria rather than shipping it around the globe in the guise of "net zero".

Sorted.

I agree to a point, but at the loss of 700k a day and the CPO being funded by the tax payer at to what cost?

Depends if only thinking in monetary terms. Non monetary reasons (military and non military) could well make it an essential option to take.

The optics of allowing a Chinese company to close our only blast furnaces in the present circumstances probably means it is politically expedient for Starmer & Co to step in if necessary.

I'm fundamentally an anti globalist I believe Britain should be able to be independent and not rely on other nations. Steel is a strategic resource. We need yo be able to produce it especially in time of war.

They read this place.

Now don`t go looking to sell it to someone else, keep it (and Port Talbot) in UK hands.
Having an industry that produces high quality steel is not a bad thing (unless you are a Net Zero fundamentalist).

Look at what we (the UK population) need. Food, Power,Water, Transport and put them at the top of the "self sufficiency" list - reduce the amount of non-seasonal food being shipped around the globe - Net Zero win.

And ban Avocado`s - forever - unless you grow your own - which no sane person would do. 🤷‍♂️
