Hargreaves just turned 38 at the end of the promotion season, can't remember when he played his actual last minutes for us exactly though

About three weeks before his 38th birthday.

When I did the Miscellany book (2009 I think, so before Hargreaves' second spell), this is what I wrote about oldest players:*

Goalkeeper Alan Judge is the oldest player to have played for United since the club turned professional, being 44 years and 176 days old when playing his final game, a 4-0 defeat at Southend on 6 November 2004, making him the seventh oldest player to have played in the Football League at the time. The oldest outfield player is Andy Linighan, who was 38 years 314 days when he came on as a substitute against Swansea on 28 April 2001. Linighan is also the club’s oldest debutant, being 38 years and 121 days when making his first appearance, at home to Luton. The side’s oldest goalscorers are Gavin Johnson and Jimmy Bains, who coincidentally were both 36 years and 31 days old when they scored their final goals for the club; Bain’s at Kidderminster in January 1956, and Johnson’s at Wycombe in November 2006. They beat Guy Whittingham, who scored on his only appearance for United while on loan from Portsmouth in a 2-1 defeat at Swindon, at the age of 35 years 331 days.

Cheers, I have forgotten that, but we have had so many players play for us now over the last 40 years that I suppose that is to be expected.

He was signed as a stop-gap after we sold Matt Elliott and Wilsterman was taking a little while to adapt.

Same as how I take it. Mrs E works in a coffee roastery (importing green beans from all over and roasting them before shipping them out to café's across Europe) so I've involuntarily become a right coffee snob over the last decade, as she only brings home the proper fancy stuff.

Did get myself a bag of the Missing Bean / OUFC "Can We Talk?" coffee, which met even her high standards.
