Both were shite and are now completely ineffective, what little sporting talent they had is long gone. Two players who played starring roles for their teams when winning promotion last time they played at this level?

Started all but one game, played in every game and was our top scorer with 15 goals. You might not rate him, but it’s just a fact that he was key member of that team by any measureI think starring role is a bit of an exaggeration for Harris!

I doubt he would be registered but even if he is, Ingram and Eastwood as back ups in league 1 isn’t the worst situation. After all, we got promoted with Buchel and Slocombe as our keepers!I think I'm correct in saying that if Eastwood is signed on a playing contract, he would be deemed a senior player and therefore we wouldn't be permitted an emergency loan if Cumming and Ingram were injured.
That was from League Two though. Whole different ball game down thereI doubt he would be registered but even if he is, Ingram and Eastwood as back ups in league 1 isn’t the worst situation. After all, we got promoted with Buchel and Slocombe as our keepers!

He even gets a mention in this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ce8pm9zdmy9oMost clubs are now registering their no.1 Keeper (literally!) a reserve, and a third choice that isn't expected to play. This is either an older experienced pro (Eastwood) or a younger development option (Knightbridge).
Where league one and two clubs can register any number of goal keepers, you may have clubs registering a 4th, but it is from this pot that any emergency loans would likely come from, or those not registered at higher clubs.
So the argument is not about Eastwood v Cumming, its about Eastwood v another clubs 4th choice keeper or worse.
Eastwood is in training every day, knows the players and the way the manager wants to play. And he is a relatively cheap option that also helps coach and develop our youth keepers who will ideally be soon ready to challenge Easty for that 3rd spot.
Not ideal, but when it comes to squad management this is actually a fairly sensible use of resources.
He's been on a playing contract for the last 2 years but still wasn't part of the registered squad (26 players, or whatever it was). I suspect that's what was meant. If he's on any form of playing contract, he'll be a registered player.
Would you fancy going into a big game with Eastwood who hasn't played any minutes (of any kind) since early 2024 dropping in.

Personally I would far prefer having him drop in rather than an emergency loan. He knows the team, the manager, the club, the stadium, and lives in the area, so will just need to actually get on and play, rather than have some Championship/Prem 3rd choice keeper who also hasn't been playing much 1st team football yet/lately and needs to adapt quickly to a sudden change in circumstances.
He's a safe pair of hands in League One.

I really don't want to get into it with the Eastwood fanclub (it's second only to that of Sam Long in it's prickliness) but he was actually appalling, at this very level, a whopping four seasons ago.
Appalling is maybe overselling it a little but he was certainly very poor but a lot of people were so conditioned to it so couldn't see it.I really don't want to get into it with the Eastwood fanclub (it's second only to that of Sam Long in it's prickliness) but he was actually appalling, at this very level, a whopping four seasons ago.
I guess he is now officially our number 2 keeper.

It's ok - he did an alright job for us last time we were in League 1.
Nah Harris, Eastwood both great options, might as well get Jake Wright back too.We nearly got relegated and it was over 3 years ago.
Pray JC doesn’t get sold then pray he doesn’t get injured, Eastwood will need to dive now to get down to a shot hit in March.

It's all ok because they did a job for us once upon a time.
I hear Jake Wright is now a head of year at a school. However, I'm not sure whether that's actually true, as I only read it 15 times on Yellows Forum.Nah Harris, Eastwood both great options, might as well get Jake Wright back too.

I don’t think JC is getting sold under any circumstances now!We nearly got relegated and it was over 3 years ago.

Depends on whether he is one of the players with a relegation release clause. I suspect not, else there's no way we would have let Ingram leave if the door was also open for Jamie to also be picked up.I don’t think JC is getting sold under any circumstances now!

Better hope he doesn’t get injured either.I don’t think JC is getting sold under any circumstances now!
