After the clear out Nelson is one of the most experienced and he’s only 25. Phil Edwards added experience to the back line and did well. I disagree with anyone who is writing him off as a cheapo. He will be one of the top earners at the club, he would have been on big wages at Bradford and teams like Blackburn and Posh were after him last summer.

Bradford fans give mixed reviews but reading between the lines he will be a useful addition but some question marks over his attitude. Time will tell but looking forward to having a set piece specialist again. With Maguire there was always that possibility of a goal and defences were afraid to give away fouls in dangerous areas.

Little bit concerned by the Bradford fans suggesting he's past it + has a bad attitude, but suppose the proof will be in the pudding. Do think we need to up our ante in the transfer market now - looking very light up top and in CM. Overall though, been a solid week of activity.
