I seem to remember Denis Smith saying that he'd had 'George Weah' on the phone recommending a player, but I don't think anything materialised.

On his comeback he played in a senior cup game (which in theory should count as they're supposed to be first team games) and was comfortably the best player on the pitch

He never had a choice really as Southampton signed him on his 17th birthday

as we were relegated out of the EFL.
