Charged with Misconduct in relation to the sale of Hillsborough and the Profitability and Sustainability Submission/inclusion of the profits in the 2017/18 accounts.

I wonder if Derby are under investigation as well as they sold their ground which meant they could meet the P&S requirements (iirc)?

It seems the FL is trying to show some teeth, with this alongside Macc being charged after the Bury/Bolton farce and the letter from the Parliament Committee. WIll it continue and will they change the rules to stop HMRC being used as an overdraft facility or even introduce proper financial licencing requirements?

Reading esp since they became the plastics, have always been a bit suspect imo

If they're all determined to have artificially inflated the value of their grounds, and therefore breached the P&S rules - then the precedent was set last year with Birmingham; that's a 9 point deduction.

Would leave Reading level with Barnsley at the bottom of the table.

Got to be a chance we're either playing them, or possibly even looking down on them next season!


On the general issue - the EFL got their hand slapped pretty hard over the Bury situation.
Suspect they may now be motivated to actually try and enforce their own rules.....in the short term at least.....

9 points for both Reading and Derby would be amusing. Hopefully this would force the FL and clubs to change the rules on the sale of stadiums.

Reading getting 9 points deducted may have a serious impact especially if it knocks players' morale etc on top of the immediate points being taken off.
