I've heard that Tiger has put his name in the hat.

I’d forgotten about the January window wish list being disclosed on social media, I absolutely take @holdsteady
point about being not able to turn down the Saudi money, but I doubt the sudden pulling of the plug in the summer and then the embarrassment of #tigergate has helped much.

Could let the manager decide what players he wants. Cutting edge but it may catch on...

I am told that's half the problem. They did have input. I know for example ED took all the credit for Tom Bradshaw but not sure that wasn't a Gary signing. Likewise, I am sure Christ Makosso wasn't on Ed's list.

That’s the hope.

A new head of recruitment and new first team coach for a fresh rebuild can only be a positive
Summer 2024 we had a temporary transfer embargo because we forgot to pay for Matete when he was on loan.

April 2025 we had an embargo because we messed our financial accounts up.

Summer 2025 we started spending well before the budget changed overnight.

January 2026 the wife of one of our directors stuck a video of him reading out our transfer targets on Instagram.

I don't think anyone is arguing the recruitment is perfect, but I'm still surprised they get so much flak when it's obvious there is so much incompetence above them. Others can seemingly get away with things time and again with little more than a shoulder shrug.

We're a bigger fish in League 1 than The Championship and I expect it'll be easier to recruit good players for this level. I just hope whoever ends up in charge of it is given the best opportunity to do their job properly.

Hope he’s got an interpreter .

Of course there is massive incompetence above them.. that’s not the point I made in my post. I’ve made that pretty clear on other threads.

I’ve not been fan of the recruitment since we was in the Championship so I’m happy to see him move on.
He also has a very close obvious relationship with Bloomfield. Another person I don’t rate so my hope is that his departure is in line with Bloomfields.

Sometimes we can read between the lines. Maybe Ed will fancy that role vacated by SM?
Does this mean EW might step back into a pure recruitment role, and we might actually be looking for a new 'Head of Football' type recruit instead? Not sure if your post is speculation, ITK, or I've got the wrong end of the stick!
