Tickets Saturday 28th Sept: Burnley (H) ticket threads

There are no concessions on exchange tickets
There were last week (probably a mistake / teething issue) - at least when i looked at the booking screen.
I can see the point. The club don't want to credit a full price ticket and then end up selling it for less to a concession.

Wouldn’t say the Patterson days were building towards anything, we were pretty awful with some players who were pretty much semi pro and we were completely skint. All changed with the appointment of Wilder, whatever you think of him that was the first step towards this, he halted the slide and turned it round in a short space of time.

The low point was probably losing to Droylsden away in the league wasn’t it? Worse than Histon or Hayes and Yeading? I’m surprised to find that wasn’t with Patto but under one of our greatest managers, Jim Smith

Nuneaton in the FA cup away in 77 was pretty bad in terms of result and violence. I think I’m right that Mick Brown got his arm broken by a hammer thrown from their end

@OUSP - I showed someone at work how to return their ST seat for the Burnley game. The confirmation was very confusing, mentioning a "purchase" and that the tickets would be "posted" to him....

Some re-wording of that template is needed.

If at all possible, could you look at getting a screenshot and send this to ouspinfo@gmail.com for us to take forward?

Trouble is you will probably see more exchange tickets for 12-30 than 3pm due to local kids football in the morning as I will be unable to make 12-30 kick offs due to my lad playing on a Saturday morning and a lot of games don't kick off till at least 10 to 10-30
Now I feel bad. I'm wondering if I can get my daughter to miss her football game so we can see the West Brom match. You are the better dad.

6pm update on Tuesday and now only 16 home seats available - all original seats are sold so technically this match is now a complete SELL OUT. Only exchange seats left.

17 of the 25 Blocks currently sold out (additional tickets could become available through the exchange mechanism). Currently seats are available in following areas:

North Stand 1
East Stand 12
SS Upper 2
SS Lower 1

11pm update on Tuesday and currently no tickets available.

Obviously some more exchange tickets (or possibly even original seats released by the club if not being used) will become available over the next three days but demand for this match has been exceptionally high from the outset. Anyone still looking to go needs to jump on any further tickets made available quickly!

Effectively we have sold out plus approx 100 more exchange tickets already a full three days before the match.

Sadly it looks like I can't use my 2 x STs tomorrow in the North Stand - great seats - so will put them back up for re-sale.

Published attendance 11570 (highest of the season) with 1565 away so home = 10005.

Looks like the front rows of the north stand first block were opened up to Burnley as their allocation was 1476.
Also a few more seats looks like in use in the front rows of the home north stand where previously empty.

I assume the seats with netting on in the home end is because if people buy them then stand up it blocks the view of those behind them?

Correct, blocks the view of the disabled platform. Poor design.
Tricky one.
Why would the stadium designer leave rows of empty space to factor in that fans will stand up if the stadium was built in an all seater era?
though there is perhaps a factor that fans who can will stand up for corners / free kicks / penalties, regardless of whether they might block someone behind them. particularly the North Stand which is a bit more lively.

generally the South Stand i think say stay seated? no matter what happens.

There are plenty of new builds from a similar time and newer who have managed to design it without issue.
Setting the disabled platform on a higher base would have been one idea.

which is solved by netting off the seats that cause the problem?
it's all fine looking back, but at least the club have acknowledged that those rows could have people standing and affecting the disabled platform view.

I seem to remember the disabled platform being very much of an after thought so I wouldn't give too much credit to the designers on this one.

yeah well the current club owners are having to work with what they've got and the limitations of not being able to make any ground alterations easily.

The Kassam Stadium was, and is, a terrible design. Even if it had been finished there are so many flaws in it, and so much that could, and should, have been done better. The architects that the club chose did the Molyneux revamp, which should have been enough of a red flag for us to avoid them like the plague.

The lack of suitable provision for the disabled is just one of many poorly "designed" elements.

When I was showing a leading stadium architect around it a few years ago he couldn't believe the brutalist galvanised steel barriers that are located around the stadium at the top of entrances and on the front wall of the SSU. His comment was "these don't look as if they've been designed by an architect, they look as if they were designed by a blacksmith!!!"

As mentioned above we gave Burnley 1,565 tickets, an increase on previous games, by utilizing the front row seats in front of blocks 28 & 29.
That is 365+ more seats than we are required to.
Now that they are effectively saying they can use those front row seats, and assuming the "Safety" people still want to maintain 700ish seat separation then there is no reason why:-
- Give away supporters only half of bock 27 - Reduction of 350.
- Oxford fans have half of block 26 (Use same exit as block 25) - Increase 350.
Put the netting on east side of block 27 and west side of block 26.
This arrangement also gives the stewards a nice walkway/steps in the middle of the segregated area.

You've confused our 'safety' team already with this, they don't understand logic

According to West Brom site, we've given them 1,400.

The away allocations seem all over the shop, assume the front rows will be back to being netted off for that one?
The official allocation disclosed was 1476 on the away club's sites for Norwich (actual) and Burnley (pre-sale).
Preston 1467 (actual)
So even if they are putting the netting back in after Burnley 1565 (actual), how is it now only 1400 (pre-sale) for WBA?
