On the day we flew out to Lublin in mid-August, our plane sat on the tarmac at Luton for over two hours as the airspace in Eastern Poland was closed due to a suspected Russian drone. My wife and baby are flying back this morning and this happens! Looks like flights are running again now luckily. She told me she's very glad to be coming back to England.

Israel doing whatever the hell it wants and no one bothering to step in and do anything. Protests are worthless and the activities of Palestine Action are a distraction.

Russia doing nothing whatever the hell it wants. Sporting boycotts and some limp wristed economic sanctions have no effect. Oligarchs get around any measures the UK tries to put in place.

Even at the lowest level of government locally, we have KPC wasting tax payer money on a fudged traffic report against the stadium. Skirting correct council procedure, the clerk and the councillors have lied to the public and marked their own homework to produce a report that has no validity. Who to complain to about this? The clerk and the council apparently- those are who complicit in it. CDC and the Local Government Ombudsman don’t want to know.

Where’s accountability nowadays? Why can so many get away with so much? There’s no political will to do anything about it.

Well, I have to say that seeing KPC put alongside Russia and Israel has brightened my morning considerably. :)

Which is why people protesting about the banning PA is actually quite important. Are the dreadful genocidal Israeli government going to stop because of them? Of course not. Should our government be doing more (in concert with other governments) to hold the Israeli government and the individuals involved in that regime more accountable? Of course they should. The protesters are trying to achieve the latter - as well as drawing attention to the fact that anti-terrorist legislation is being used as a political tool to silence people embarrassing the government.

I think we can also add Peter Mandeldson to the list of those trying to dodge accountability. His friendship with Epstein shows a terrible lack of judgement at the very least, and having him as ambassador to the US (which is being run by another Epstein 'friend' of course) might have seemed like a clever move to someone at some point, but makes his loyalties very suspect IMO, because it could be that Trump knows stuff that Mandelson wouldn't like released.

They were not attacking Poland, but equally I highly doubt this was a mistake - you don’t accidentally fly drones into the wrong airspace. This will have been a deliberate act to push the boundaries and see the response. as Russia continue to do on multiple fronts.

One a corrupt establishment formed of ideological hostile actors who are hellbent on destruction and keen to use any illegal tactics safe in the knowledge they can without any form of scrutiny.

The others are the Russian Federation and the State of Israel.
 
Some discussion about Russia checking out Poland/ NATOs reaction and defences.
Europe really need to get their act together ( US is no longer reliable).
Not sure I trust Europe to do this.

Iirc at least Poland have been upgrading their military in size and equipment.

In hindsight, makes our own reduction in Army size look very short sighted. Germany really needs to up their game after all the rhetoric about increasing the budget etc.

I mentioned on the Donald Trump thread that a couple of experts were suggesting it wouldn’t be long until Russia began to test NATO and Article 5. This is the first test, not all out threat, but enough to continue to undermine it. I think I’ve shared a link to the post below.

I suspect we will see more of this whilst Putin sits and watches the US response.
