International News Russian War With Ukraine

Sadly thousands of babies and children who should have nothing else to worry about than fairies and story books have been murdered by weapons that we pay for, and hundreds of thousands are starving because those who represent us are more worried about their business ties than saving lives.

Makes the religion excuse look pretty pathetic in comparison.
"Weapons imported from Germany make up 28 percent of Israel’s military imports. Germany’s military exports rose nearly tenfold in 2023 compared with 2022 after it increased sales to Israel in November, according to figures from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action."

"68 percent of Israel’s weapons imports between 2013 and 2022 came from the US."

I reckon that doesn't leave us "paying for" much, even less so because, broadly speaking, the customer pays the supplier.

So stop playing the "whatabout card" and accept that religion is the base cause of the issues in the Middle East and has been for centuries.

@Essexyellows THIS IS IN THE WRONG THREAD!!

Yeah… describes it as a major provocation!!

I mean wtf is he on.

Depends which audience that is aimed at when he says it. Domestically it makes sense considering he controls the narrative.

Of course internationally it makes no sense even with his allies Iran, China and North Korea.

Impressive considering the number of troops involved that they managed to surprise everyone including their allies

Maybe Zelensky was right in replacing his top military commander a few months ago

It certainly is high risk considering they are using some of their best troops. If it draws away Russian forces from where they are putting pressure on Ukrainian defences then it may be a good gamble. Also may be a worthwhile gambit should negotiations start soon.

Sorry, not read the whole thread, but seems like a little bit of history repeating? Which it always does, so I don’t understand why the people in charge don’t see it coming.
Quite a long video, sorry. Ronald Reagan a much better orator than I remember.

Doh! Wrong link

Should we allow Ukraine to use our long range weapons, what with Putins threats. Or is he bluffing?

It’s a risk worth taking.

We either try and nullifie Russia now ( even the treat of long range midsslee might make Russia thing gwicdmdsor be forced to fight them later.

Its time we threatened him not the other way round. Its absurd the way we have let him call the shots make all the threats while we have the capabilities to destroy his military virtually overnight.

I’d urge caution, let’s not forget that he hasn’t actually attacked a NATO country yet - if he had then by all means strike all the Russian targets we want, but I’m not sure what we gain from potentially antagonising him, given that he clearly can’t sweep Ukraine aside and even if he did, he has zero chance of getting anywhere in any NATO country, and the whole world knows that now.
