Current Player Thread Ruben Roosken

It's just sour grapes, right...?

Some people have made comments on social media so must be true.........

I remember people on social media demanding MApp get the sack from us in his first season and Ciaron Brown was rubbish when he signed for us as well. As said earlier, I'll wait to see what he does for us.

There are plenty of positive remarks from Huddersfield fans too if you look at their forum. Might be worth judging him for ourselves right? The thing that bothers me is trying to fit another loanee into our squad.

It’s weird we signed a left back if Currie is fit and Leigh is staying, either they thought one might go or one has a injury problem they can’t trust, especially given this lad is on loan.

Hi, Hudds fan in peace, only came on for a quick look but saw a lot of negative posts regarding Roosken, and joined to add some balance. The lad is undoubtedly talented and a serious baller on his day, quite surprised to see some of the vitriol aimed towards him. if you can find a position for him that suits you will have a right player on your hands.

Yes there forum think we've signed a great player 🤣🤣 sounds like we are recruiting for league 2 not league 1 oh forgot we are in the championship.

What would you say his best position is?

They were fairly disparaging about Helik. If this lad comes in and has the same impact as he did last season (5-6 goals) then he’ll be a significant factor in keeping us up.

Ok, Helik has struggled at times this season and their comments about his pace are warranted. That said, our defence have had to content with almost no midfield for large parts of the season.

Biggest concern I have is his stomach for a battle. We’re in a Championship relegation dogfight. There’s no time for drifting out of games or not showing 100% fight for the cause.

I'm surprised no-one has commented on his debut at Coventry, perhaps there were some in the match day thread. I thought he was very assured, solid defensively but also had a real turn of pace when needed, twice getting past the Coventry full-back via a one-two to put in a neat low cross.

Well done.

From the highlights reel that someone shared when he signed, I thought that his crossing looked a real strength. Looking forward to seeing how he develops.

Agreed, I think he looked very promising. With him, Massoko and MPH, it really appears that we’ve added some quality this window.

I just wish that Roosken was right sided, given that we have Currie!

I completely agree, but it’s much nicer to have Roosken come on for Currie or vice versa when one of them becomes tired instead of Leigh.

It’s an upgrade for certain.

Very, very tenacious. And can take a good dead ball.

We are suddenly extremely strong at LWB.
RWB? Not so sure.
