Just heard that my longest and oldest friend Robert Akers (Marston Road) has sadly passed away on Monday night at the early age of only 59.

He was an avid lifelong U's supporter (East Stand) and if fact my older brother Martin took us both to our first game in the 1968/69 season.

My thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time ……. RIP Rob xx

P.S. The Funeral is being held on Thursday 6th September 12pm at The Oxford Crematorium then afterwards at The Chequers Inn (Quarry)

Can't say I knew the gent but always saddened at the passing of a fellow oxford fan. R.I.P sir.

Sorry to hear another U's fan has left us, safe in the arms of Jesus..
